Knowing Kobe he probably got albums early and kept it on the lowOr maybe him being Kobe there is also the possibility he got an advanced copy before general release. Just Jay-Z albums and no other artists album?
I don't think I ever learned an album that fast![]()
I remember in Spring of '01 we were on the road, and at the hotel Kobe was like "Hey come check this out!" We went in the room and he had this huge TV set up. The hotel just had like regular TV's but Kobe's room had this huge TV and anyway he hit play on the remote and Rush Hour 2 started playing. It wasn't a bootleg, it was the full version, like 6 months before it went to theaters. So like the whole team was in his room just chilling watching Rush Hour 2. Then that line came where Chris Tucker was going up the stairs and the asian woman called him "Kobe" we all just busted out laughing. We were drinking Hi-C ecto coolers. It was awesome.
Yeah that's why I'm calling bullshyt
I've done it before. Before the internet i used to listen to albums and write the lyrics down (I had notebooks full of them). It'd take forever because I'd keep having to pause and rewind to catch what rappers were saying. I'd be in my room with albums on repeat and just keep reciting the lyrics.
I think the first Jay album I did that with was vol 2. I remember because it took me a while to write the lyrics to Jigga What for some reason.
Damn dude props for that.
Also I can see jigga what being pretty damn hard to write down while listening.
Freshman year in college it took me 3 hours to write down the lyrics to blackstar's thieves in the night because I was analyzing the lyrics for this English paper (by the way that paper wrote itself)
