LeBron is probably the most skilled player of all time. Kobe is one-dimensional in comparison.

Do you understand skill...

Footwork
Handle
Head fakes
Pump fakes
Angles
Jab steps
Drop steps
Step backs
Pull ups

Vino had the whole package

And those talk about efficiency don’t realize Kobe was a perimeter player, not a slasher. Ray Allen shot 45% for his career, Kob shot a shade under 45. There’s no diff.

Idk.. it’s tough to call. Kobe has more finesse to his game but skill is debatable. Yes kobe can dribble better and has better foot-work, but he doesn’t see the floor like Lebron and isn’t as skilled as a passer. Lebron has the finesse in his passing that kobe has in footwork. His blocking skill is also better than Kobe’s. And no, his blocking skill is not just his height, Lebron has impeccable timing.

Kobe can pass too breh.

Except his game wasn’t molded to pass, like lebrons is.

Well he is didn't really know that was debatable.

LeBron physical prowess allows him to do what he does most of the time. Kobe wasn't blessed with the same athleticism and size so he became a technician.
So would you say that wade is more skilled than kobe simply because he’s not as big? Your reasoning is just stupid. As if kobe wasn’t blessed to be 6’6 with his level of athleticism and coordination.

This thread is just a sad display of how ignorant you so-called fans here are. Hardly anybody in this thread is even talking about skills. Most of the commentary is about who’s game looks the prettiest and other gay shyt.

Let’s talk about actual basketball skills and compare:

Scoring: Lebron is clearly the better scorer. He averages more points in the regular season and playoffs than kobe at a much more efficient race.

Passing: Lebron and it’s not even close. Doesn’t even deserve an explanation

Play making: Again Lebron is the better playmaker and it’s not close.

Ball handling: I see people saying that kobe is a better dribbler, how? Lebron handles the ball much much more than kobe ever did and he’s been less careless handling the ball than kobe. Lebron avgs 2.5 more assists than kobe did but only .5 more turnovers (Lebron-3.5 kobe-3). Lebron has a more than 2-1 assist to turnover ratio while kobe has less than a 2-1 assist ratio.

Driving to the cup: Lebron easily. Lebron in his 15th year is better at getting past his primary defender 1on1 and getting to cup and finishing than kobe ever was.

Jumpshooting/free throws: Advantage Kobe here, he had a better midrange jumper than lebron although Lebron does shoot the 3 at a higher percentage. Kobe was clearly the better ft shooter.

Defense- I don’t really see defense as a skill. It most certainly counts when evaluating a player but I think it’s ultimately about effort. Kobe’s defense was highly overrated during his career while people are more willing to call Lebron out for his lack of effort on defense during the last couple of years. At their best kobe was probably a better individual defender while Lebron was the better team defender.

So as you can see just evaluating these 2 on basketball skills without taking gay personal feelings into account, Lebron is clearly the most skilled. All that shyt about who’s jumpshot or footwork was “prettier” is irrelevant. If kobe’s Pretty jumper and footwork didn’t allow him to score as much and as efficiently as Lebron then what difference does it make? None. The only skills that kobe was better at then Lebron is midrange shooting and ft shooting. Everything else advantage Lebron.

Do you understand, Eli? That's more to the point

Those are all specialized skills useful in one aspect of the game - getting your own shot in an isolation setting. There's so much more to basketball.

Kobe is arguably the most skilled player of all-time.

Where I put Lebron over Kobe is Lebron made the best use of his skill.

Kobe just didn't care much for efficiency. There was a bit of madness in Kobe's game.

In the my history of watching NBA basketball, I've never thought to myself, 'Something is wrong with this motherfukker'. I did that for Kobe's whole career.

Def. my favorite player, but he'd be a lot more highly regarded if he had made a serious attempt at being more efficient.

Wouldn't have been as exciting, but ... you gain something and you lose something.
Damn, thought this deserved more daps.

I got you at least breh

How many times has LBJ scored 50 in his career? How about 60? Can LBJ score 40 in 9 straight games?

Of course LBJ shoots a higher %...35-40% of his shots are in the lane

Averaging more assists does not make him a better ballhandler. LBJ has no go to dribble moves. Kobe had dozens. Lbj’s handle Is mechanical, Kobe’s was fluid.

Defense is a fundamental skill in which Kobe was better due to his footwork positioning, keeping his shoulders low, and using angles.

Well yeah of course. He's a smaller player that plays a different position. He's not the better player tho

Dudes always saying Kobe is the most skilled ever yet with all that skill he’s a career 44pct shooter. :mjlol:

This is the part where you tell me he primarily took difficult jumpers. So do Steph and KD and they’re light years ahead of that nikka in efficiency, so wassup?

None of this matters. Lebron scores more points at a much more efficient rate. This is the gay shyt I’m talking about. You’re talking about hot streaks and I’m talking about what these guys have done over the totality of their respective careers.

Of course LBJ shoots a higher %...35-40% of his shots are in the lane
That’s because Lebron is more skilled at getting into the lane and selecting shots on offense. :heh: at tryna penalize Lebron for getting better/smarter higher percentage shots than kobe.

Averaging more assists does not make him a better ballhandler. LBJ has no go to dribble moves. Kobe had dozens. Lbj’s handle Is mechanical, Kobe’s was fluid.
I didn’t say that averaging more assists made Lebron a better ball handler. I clearly argued that the fact that Lebron handles the ball a lot more than kobe while having a lower turnover rate makes him a better ball handler. You sound like a little ass boy talking about go-to dribble moves and all that.

Defense is a fundamental skill in which Kobe was better due to his footwork positioning, keeping his shoulders low, and using angles.
I guess it could be argued that defense is a skill but you didn’t say anything that supports claiming that kobe is more skilled. Defense is probably the most overrated aspect of kobe’s game. He was a very good defender in his early years with prime Shaq in the paint but after that he pretty much coasted defensively. During his run as the man on the lakers he wasn’t elite defensively and was often subpar as a team defender. If anything, Lebron has proven to be more versatile and clutch defensively than kobe was.
1. Of course Kobe believes he's better
2. Kobe is obviously more skilled. That doesn't necessarily make him a better player though.
What skills is he better at? You cats just post shyt with no explanation.
