The team started winning when Kobe made a more concerted effort to set people up. He has never given Nash free reign to run the offense like the Suns did, that is the point. You all are acting as though Kobe wasn't taking 20 shots a game early on in the season and dominating the ball.

Had I told you Nash would be averaging 14 and 7 before the start of the season you would have said I was crazy.

I understand what you are saying. But the point is this Lakers team is old. They do not have the legs to let Nash run the offense and speed up the offense. If Phil Jackson was the Lakers coach, what duties do you think he'd have Nash do? spotting up.

The lakers have no starting player that can effectively take the ball to the basket and put pressure on the opposing team's defense. So having a Kobe who is willing to pass the ball as your primary ball handler solves a lot of issues for the Lakers. He can take his man off the dribble or kick it out to Nash who's a lethal shooter. Since opposing teams are reluctant to leave Nash open, it opens the floor and gives both Dwight and Kobe more room to operate.

we lakers fans aren't delusional(well some among us are ), we know the strength and weaknesses of this current Lakers team. And having Kobe as our primary ball handler mask a lot of said weaknesses and make us a better team.

Running in his direction. Sorry, but that Suns roster last year was hot garbage, and Nash has not fallen off to the point he should be relegated to spot up shooter. That is bad offense and it does not work against good teams, they've won 15 of their last 21 because of who they played. And your point about Nash and turnovers, why doesn't that hold true for Kobe? He's turning the ball over at a ridiculous rate since becoming the playmaker.

He was not turning the ball over at a ridiculous rate until this recent stretch. But let's be realistic Walt. Kobe bought into Brown's offense and let Nash run the show and played off the ball. He was efficient and they were losing. They worked with D'Antoni's offense and we were all complaining about Kobe spotting up and shooting 3s and that's not what you do with a Kobe Bryant. He himself was part of that miserable three point shooting.

Nash was incredibly inefficient running PG for us and he was not running up the court and just passing to Kobe. Part of that was Dwight setting terrible screens, but it's just real. Nash hasn't fallen off but the personnel isn't there for him. MWP can't shoot, Dwight doesn't run that pick and roll as well as Amare...he and Pau had minimal chemistry and D'Antoni had Pau shooting 3s, the tempo was slowed, etc.

This roster is not built for Nash that way. The guy's that Kobe is kicking it out to now have been getting minutes due to Pau's absence (Jamison, Clark) and are shooting at a crazy clip right now. They are shooting 43% from 3 since the break. Who knows how long that lasts.

Pace is completely irrelevant to what I'm talking about. The personnel has been shaken up and of course Nash is gone.

Sure, they are committed to executing at the same speed, but they aren't executing as effectively as they were before. They just don't fit very well at this point. You also had Michael Redd getting minutes and doing work, don't even try to compare this years Suns to last years. You're looking at numbers and nothing more.
