I understand you wanting to argue free market but im just saying real shyt. I dont understand Kobe saying he's underpaid. Especially if we are looking at production .: To me it sounds more like he's saying this because of the criticism over his contract :manny:

:dahell:

before his injuries last year, he literally had a 14 year run where he put up 27ppg, 6rpg, 5apg each season. you talkin like Kobe is Gilbert Arenas or something. collecting $20mil/yr while missing the last 4 nba seasons.

and you also seem to be missing the point. Kobe and LeBron's value is not their stats or even titles. its the amount of people they put in seats. both the tv couch and the arena. and Kobe Bryant has been the most popular basketball player of the last 15 years. the amount of revenue he generated for the Lakers and the NBA over the last decade warrant alot more money than he was paid. ALOT MORE. Jerry Buss said something a couple of years ago about Kobe being worth like $90 million/yr to the Lakers in terms of how much revenue he ALONE generates.

Watching
new owners are usually billionaires coming in, so they could buy it for the love of the game.

alright let me ask you this: If there was no cap and you wanted to win a championship this season, would you pay kobe his real value to the team commercially??

since there is no cap, why not? i'd sign kobe, lebron, durant, melo, dwight, cp3, etc. to whatever they wanted. especially if i'm a loaded owner.

There's no salary cap in baseball and there's pretty much a different champion every year.

He's right.
The Lakers have sold out more opposing arenas than any team in the league since around '06.
That streak didn't end until last season I believe when Kobe was out with the achilles injury.
That isn't factoring the revenue their names generate for merchandise sales.
