Before Dwight even came, Kobe made it a point that he was in charge and Dwight can have it once he's done with it. Dwight got emotional and Kobe seemed to use it as extra motivation to try to outshine him and prove he was the boss. Like the Shaq Kobe situation from a decade, both sides were too stubborn to admit they needed each other.With Dwight as the star and Kobe as the veteran with a lesser role and willingness to pick his spots, the Lakers would not have had a hard time attracting other free agents. It would have been a dynamic that a free agent star would have seen potential in.
