It's amazing what people can do with otherwise obvious and innoucuous statements in their heads. As others have said, he said "play", he didn't say "dominate" or even "play well", he just said they could play in the league. And he listed 3 of the top players in the league and they are all 6'0 and up. It's nowhere near as outrageous as how people are interpreting it. He is literally just saying that the best women's player could make it in the NBA,.

Add Kobe to the list of NBA players, whose opinion we should take with a grain of salt.

Dude has daughters playing basketball, if this helps their confidence then whatever.

Common sense, there are other basketball leagues all over the world with dudes who either can't make it to NBA or they had a short career in NBA because they weren't good enough for NBA.

There are lots of former NBA players like Shane Larkin, Nando De Colo, Greg Monroe, Nick Calathes, Derrick Williams, Rudy Fernandez, Jan Vesely and many more in Euroleague, the 2nd best basketball league in the world. If they can beat these guys then NBA career is waiting for these women :troll:

the point is they can't 'play' in the nba, unless you mean play as in a random mailman is 'playing.' they would be complete nonfactors on both ends. if you're just gonna say they can be out there, then that's true for anybody, but if you're saying a woman can make an nba team by having to beat out men to get a position, then the answer is no and he knows that, he was pandering.

Well yes they could play. Technically, if you have a functioning body with two legs, two arms, functioning eyes and all that you could technically play in NBA. What also helps a lot is knowing the game rules. And also would be great if you are at least 6ft tall.

Thing is, there are a lot of 6ft professional male basketball players all over the world, who were never drafted by NBA, I wonder how would best WNBA talent play against those guys :jbhmm::martin:
