You left out the part in 2013 where the spurs swept the lakers and they haven't been to the playoffs since while having a bottom 7 winning record since

Basically every team in the league had one night against him where he was just unstoppable. Pretty incredible. Never in a million years when he was at Lower Merion did I think third leading scorer in the history of basketball. I thought for sure NBA star, but still.

You went to school with Kobe?

No. I did attend the Adidas ABCD camp as a youngster (in Teaneck, NJ). This was back in the day when you actually had to perform at the summer camps to really be seen. Now traveling AAU has exploded and mixtapes of the players are ubiquitous. I used to hoop though in NYC with the Gauchos.

:salute:I used to hoop for Brooklyn USA and the Gauchos when they were called Roundball Gauchos. Nike Riverside was too nasty for me lol. Everybody was like 6"4 and better, I didn't even bother. LI Panthers with Gary Charles was nasty too.

I feel like Charlie Murphy.

"You see this was before gentrification. Back then, every brotha had a ball in his hand, on the way to the park." Royal Ivey (working for OKC) is from my neck of the woods in Hollis, Queens.

I won't say gentrification but the fact that kids don't play in the parks like that anymore. Around my way, if you didn't have a handle, you was a lame. It used to be block vs block, park vs park. That doesn't exist.

NYC still got some up and coming killers though. Shamorie Ponds for St Johns, Rawle Alkins for Zona, Isaiah Washington, Hamidou Diallo etc. It's just that we need for them to kill in the league. Whitehead is starting to look good for the Nets. We need that.

No size though. Haven't had any real size since Lamar Odom. We got guards, always had guards, but no bigs. I guess we could count Moses Brown and Mohammed Bamba, but I'll believe it when I see it. I live in LA now and when a kid is Mr. Basketball in California, you know they are going League, not so much in NYC anymore. Hell Hamidou has been playing in Connecticut the last three years for HS basketball. I know he plays for the NY Rens in AAU, but still.
