:usure:They ain't have anyone to cancel out Kobe in the West but they had guys like Duncan and Robinson who could handle Shaq so the Lakers would defer to Kobe, in the Finals is when Shaq cooked cause the East ain't have Centers on his level but they had guys like AI to match Kobe which is why Shaq was the Finals MVP durin the 3 peat.

What the fukk? So when Shaq >>>>>>>>>>Kobe in the finals, you say that Shaq is just feasting on inferior competition, yet in the west when the teams had quality bigs and had an entire game plan built around stopping Shaq, you clowns try to say Kobe carried Shaq through the west just because their scoring was similar?

You all love to keep posting that graphic of Kobe having one more point through the first two series or so but not only did Kobe end up with fewer points, he also didn't control the boards or paint like Shaq was doing.

Shaqs free throws were a problem and he needed a top wing by his side but he was still the #1 on that team by a landslide.

Neither of them carried the other they just wisely used whoever had the advantage against the competition and in the West that was Kobe while in the Finals it was Shaq, him havin one more point in 3 fewer minutes in the West playoffs shows he wasn't carried the way you retarded Kobe haters be sayin. Even after Shaq went off in the Finals he only finished wit one more point than Kobe, and you bring up Shaq's defense yet ignore Kobe havin lock down defense back then himself which isn't included in the graphic either.

It was debatable who was the #1 on the team those years which is why everyone would argue it and why Shaq felt some type of way, and since you wanna cry about that graphic only includin the first 2 rounds let me drop the other graphics that be gettin yall even more tight. The first one proves my point that they were equals its spooky how identical their numbers were they basically switched off and did whatever the other did dependin on where the game was played, and notice when Kobe was the second scorer he had more points than when Shaq was the second scorer but he was supposedly ridin Shaq's coattails.:usure:

:ufdup:You mention Shaq's reboundin but he was a Center Kobe a 6'7 SG and still had games wit reboundin numbers like this while droppin all those points, those are the kind of numbers prime Shaq would put up further showin Kobe was on that level even before he reached his own prime.

kobegram.0.jpg

:umad:Complete postseason stats for yall, Shaq obviously havin more rebounds but Kobe havin more assists wit one point separatin them but you act like its crazy for people to argue who was the #1 when those numbers are why Laker Nation would always have that debate back then.

Laker nation had that Shaq/Kobe debate for the same reason the coli had the debate of LeBron vs Kyrie. Its just some idiots who have a clear bias and want to arbitrarily assign more importance to the lesser player's accomplishments because they like him more, even though the total body of work tells a different story.

Simply matching Shaqs scoring total doesnt put you on his level. Otherwise we would be calling Iverson the MDE too.

That's maybe the funniest part of that graphic besides it being 7 games into a 16 game playoff run: it ignores shooting efficiency, fouls drawn, rebounds, assists, steals, blocked shots, and turnovers. Then there's all the advanced stats being ignored in that graphic.

Dying at the mental gymnastics you gotta pull off to defend Kobe

That graphic you mentioned where there stats are nearly identical is from the first two rounds in 2001, anyone with a brain know Kobe never outperformed Shaq in the ENTIRE playoffs. One time Kobe tried to, he shot them out the '04 finals.

Let me pull up the clutch stats that get the kobestans like you furious

4th Quarter + OT Shots to tie or take lead in the playoffs
(Kobe’s stats since ‘01 playoffs)

5 mins or less
LeBron: 44-102 (43%)

Kobe: 30-88 (34%)

Durant: 21-61 (34%)

2 mins or less
LeBron: 24-57 (42%)

Kobe: 17-50 (34%)

Durant: 13-37 (35%)

30 secs or less
LeBron: 10-25 (40%)

Kobe: 7-28 (25%)

Durant: 5-19 (26%)

10 secs or less
LeBron: 7-19 (37%)

Kobe: 4-18 (22%)

Durant: 2-12 (16%)

Game 7 of a Playoff Series

Kobe 22.2ppg on 38.9% FG with 8.0rpg and 5.0apg (6 games)

LeBron *34.0ppg on 46.5% FG with 8.1rpg and 3.5 APG (4 games) (*NBA Record)

Elimination Games

Kobe 21.5 ppg on 41.4% FG with 5.8rpg and 3.5apg (19 games)

LeBron 31.9 ppg on 45% FG with 10.6rpg and 6.5apg (12 games)

I ain't got time for the rest of that bullshyt, literally all of it is opinion based trash with no facts to back it up.

Ouch, Extremely painful for Kobe stans :wow:

Did I really read someone in this thread try to dismiss lebronze scoring under 18ppg in the finals by showing Kobe also had a shyt series somewhere else :bryan:

Make no mistake about it 2011 was THE biggest choke job in the last 25-30 years by a superstar in any league :dead:

Have Jason Terry average more points on less minutes off the bench :scust:

:mjlol:@ All the usual fakkits I've made mad over the past year and change convergin in this thread to dap each other's wack posts up and share stories of how butthurt they've been.

Not only that, but that try to pass that graphic off as if those were the final playoff stats all the time and they all do that shyt.
Yall try to downplay that graphic by cryin about it only bein the first 2 rounds as if it somehow changes our argument that Kobe was more than carryin his own weight.

bytch shut up
:bradyyoumad:You irate as fukk fakkit, and my stalker mrken12 gettin giddy dappin up your post thinkin you an objective party not realizin you're low key a bigger stalker of me than he is. I made you even more mad last year than I made him, you're the original mrken but he's rapidly reachin your level of fury tho.

Glad other people noticed this
Of course your fellow LeBron cocksuckers and Kobe haters noticed a loophole to set up a straw man wit that graphic, instead of acceptin that Kobe was ballin yall gotta scramble for a "b...bu....but" to discredit it.

Laker nation had that Shaq/Kobe debate for the same reason the coli had the debate of LeBron vs Kyrie.@ you of all people havin the audacity to say bolded when that desribes you LeBron stans and Kobe haters, the only reason yall be slurpin Shaq so much for the 3 peat is cause yall like him more than Kobe and sayin that was Shaq's team fits your anti-Kobe narrative while you gas up LeBron's accomplishments who you especially like more than Kobe. But the numbers don't lie Kobe wasn't some "lesser player" his accomplishments were equal to Shaq's as all those graphics show, and you got the nerve to talk about "the total body of work" when lookin at their entire body of work tells the story of Kobe havin the better career so you don't wanna go down that road dikkhead.:michaeljordanlaugh:

Kobe did more than match the scorin he was a lock down defender and even beasted on the boards on occasion as shown in game 4 against the Kings, you want to focus on reboundin/cloggin the paint and place more emphasis on that cause you know thats the area Shaq has the edge while downplayin everythin that Kobe did better yet talk about other people's biases.:mjpls: Laker Nation and the media were debatin Kobe v Shaq cause they both had a crucial impact durin the 3 peat everyone watchin could see, even Shaq knew it and later admitted it but at the time he felt threatened and didn't like everyone pointin out Kobe was on his level which lead to friction. So FOH wit that bullshyt spin.

You conveniently ignorin those other graphics I just posted which showed all the shyt you deflectin onto includin their averages for the entire 15-1 postseason run, but don't worry I'm more than happy to post them again since you missed it.:sas1:

:sas2:That gives a larger picture since you crybabies were bytchin about it so much, no surprise you skipped over that part of my last post to gossip wit your boyfriend about what wasn't included in the original graphic. You bringin up shootin efficiency (Kobe was actually pretty efficient back then as you can see in a couple of those graphics) knowin all Shaq's shots were right under the basket and fouls drawn as if they weren't doin the Hack-A-Shaq of course he's gonna have the edge in those categories and you know it don't try to be slick:stopitslime: he also gonna have more rebounds and blocks bein a 7'3 Center when Kobe's a 6'7 SG (who again could out rebound guys twice his size like in that Kings game) but as the one graphic shows Kobe had more assists and common sense tells you he lead in steals as well but if you don't believe me check Baskeball Reference Shaq had 7 steals total to Kobe's 25 that year wit a 0.4 to 1.4 difference in the Finals favorin Kobe.

Kobe had the slight edge in turnovers as well committin 51 that playoff to Shaq's 57 and Shaq made 20 TO in the Finals while Kobe committed 18, keep in mind Kobe's the primary ballhandler he was the main player runnin plays in the offense Shaq just went down low and posted up yet Kobe still was significantly better wit turnovers. :russ:@ resortin to advanced stats thats what you Kobe haters always run to when the REAL stats aren't in your favor, nobody gives a fukk about made up stats like PER which some pencil pusher at BSPN created and most players past and present don't consider legit.

Bottom line yall tell anybody who'll listen that Kobe road Shaq's coattails when all those graphics I posted in here (which everyone brings up all over the internet to show how dumb you Kobe haters are) prove he was arguably the #1, for the record those stats don't take Kobe's lock down defense into consideration cause the D he used to play back then don't show up on stat sheets but it was an important part of their success as well.

Oh :ohhh:, so NOW context matters huh??? i thought it was 3/7 or 3-4:ohhh:

:francis:Terrible analogy and you know it, we specifically talkin about how well Kobe himself played those years so runnin in sayin "only the Finals matter" to defend LeBron in future debates has no relevance to this discussion. So yes the context of THIS debate matters cause I had to give you the context when your dumbass tried to change the argument cause you busy dikkridin LeBron tearin up over your boy gettin clowned in past threads, and I stay shytin on LeBron for those reasons when they come up make no mistake 3-4 will always matter don't try to use this particular discussion to get LeBron off the hook for his failures he still gon hold his 4 Ls so deal wit it.
