Are Guides and reviews why IGN has been able to stick around so long?

IGN diversified their content a while back. They're popular media now, not just games.

I remember when I got this guide when Final Fantasy 7 came out. I used to read this shyt religiously and I had the poster on my wall throughout HS and college.

Video game magazines and strategy guides were 2 things I miss pre internet days

i had the shytty Brady games guide

YouTube will spoil everything about a game for. Plus it's way easier to have a guide pulled up and open for specific parts

You don't have 2 YouTube accounts? I got 2 when I had to have a Google+ account to use YouTube so I merged them.

I’m not sitting there reading a guide when I can just to go YouTube and see it for myself.

I used to do that but the YouTube algorithm spoiled a few games after watching a walkthrough guide
