you cant reduce the criticism to just slander when people are giving their first hand accounts of molestation. kris took a week to respond with this?

Far too many times our people cop pleas for molestation. The amount of black kids that have been molested with other family/friends knowing about it and not saying shyt or making excuses for that person is disgusting. I'm sick of that shyt.

Basically he's saying indirectly that he's not going to engage in Star's shenannigans.

I listened to the Nore interview and while he could have worded it more carefully, he essentially said that whatever Bam's personal issues are, it doesn't erase his contributions to Hip Hop. Now THAT is something I've been saying from jump...I love this CULTURE, and while it has somewhat of a religious weight behind it there are things as Dead Prez would say, that are bigger than Hip Hop, victimization of children being one of them.

I'm not mad at Star for doing what he's doing but if you pay attention he's the main one on this story and while there have been some sobering moments in between he's having a good ole time doing what he does...it IS being sensationalized just by the nature of who it is that's doing the lions share of the coverage. I'm also not mad at people who aren't directly involved wanting to keep it that way.

I totally disagree. It's an issue of justice for his victims. And they were the ones that brought it to the surface, obviously as a way to heal.

I'm not saying we should shyt on Bambaataa's contributions to hip hop. No point going overboard on that. And Bam is still a Black man who did great things for Black people. We can acknowledge that while acknowledging that he did horrible things.

I know exactly what you mean by 'airing dirty laundry' but I don't think it applies in this case, which is an extreme one.

Receipts are needed. Of course there are some pedos and rapists, but Hollywood as a whole?

And frankly, if accusers of x star came out and said "dude is a pedo", we'd definitely hear (and should hear) about it.

You missin the bigger picture. You only seein the plate of food in front of you when we got entire Farms, Factories, and Warehouses to protect.

Shining a bright ass spotlight on an issue about something that happened literally decades ago does nothing for anybody.

I know it's fukked up but they have to think outside themselves with that one

:what:

that sounds like the kind of santana KRS would write.

a) Victims came forward on their own, breh. Clearly it's doing something for them.

b) Molestation of a child runs deep. Who gives a fukk if it happened 10 minutes ago or 30 years ago? What part of you doesn't understand that this kinda shyt can harm someone for life?

Afrika Bambaataa's Ex-Bodyguard Says Pioneer Had "Hundreds" Of Child Abuse Victims

Afrika Bambaataa's Ex-Bodyguard Says Pioneer Had "Hundreds" Of Child Abuse Victims

BRONX, NEW YORK - A man who claims to be Afrika Bambaataa’s former bodyguard has come forward to speak up about allegations of child sexual abuse toward the Hip Hop legen

Radio host Star interviewed Shamsideen Shariyf Ali Bey, who also identifies himself as an original member of Black Spade, and the former head of Shaka Zulu Security.

“Bambaataa goes around fronting, like he’s this holier than thou. He’s a fukking pedophile,” he said. “...This is a well-known fact in the Zulu Nation.”

Last month, Afrika Bambaataa — the Hip Hop pioneer, author with the Soul Sonic Force of the genre-shifting song “Planet Rock” and founder of the Zulu Nation — was accused of child molestation by former New York State Democratic Committee member Ronald Savage. Savage claimed that Bambaataa forced him to engage in oral sex when he was 15 years old.Three other men came forward after Savage, making similar allegations.

Shariyf said that he remembers young boys constantly going in and out of Bambaataa’s apartment in the Parkchester neighborhood in the Bronx. Other children would actually tour with Bambaataa overseas, he said; those who didn’t condone his assaults on children wouldn’t go on tours overseas with him.

“There’s always a boy in his house. When he leaves and gets home, there’s always a boy there. I’ve seen them camped, asking him for money,” Shariyf said. “He travels with late teens, those are the ones he takes overseas with him. When I went with him on tour in the states, I’d stay in one room, and he would have boys in the room with him.

“Since the 70s, it’s been hundreds,” Shariyf said. “...I can say I’ve walked in on stuff where I say, what the fukk is going on?”

He added that in 2007, he told the Zulu Nation to bring Bambaataa up on charges. He said that as a result, he was accused of trying to get money from Bambaataa, and he broke ties with Zulu Nation shortly thereafter.

When Star asked what could be done to get Bambaataa help for his pedophilia, Shariyf said that Bambaataa is “beyond help.”

“His help is going to come from the Creator, in a way that we won’t know until we see it,” he said. “But with mercy is justice. He has to deal wit justice before he gets mercy, because he made a lot of people suffer. He needs to be held accountable.”

Bambaataa and the Zulu Nation have denied wrongdoing, and have said his accusers want to tarnish his and Hip Hop’s reputation.
