a "journalist" named mcginnis is saying that the first victim tried to take his gun away from him. that is probably going to be the basis for the self defense claim. they are also claiming that the first gunshot came from somebody else, which i assume is what they are going to use to characterize this as self defense against not only the victim but the mob as a whole.

they really need to get a witness to talk about what this kid was saying before the video. i saw his interview before the incident where he says he is there to protect property and perform simple medical care to the wounded. he also says he has no non-lethal weapons, only lethal. if he actually tried to shoot someone over property or pointed the rifle in defense of property, he could be considered a criminal at that point. shooting people to defend property is illegal in wisconsin, so if he was threatening people with the rifle, they might be in the right to try to take it from him.
