This....if I lawst I’d sue to get him disbarred
I work as a criminal defense investigator. Our office never talks to the media, and I've personally been involved in many cases that were widely publicized here in DC and some that made national news.
The legal team that's coalesced around him are mostly civil lawyers who work in lawsuits and are essentially public relations mitigation oriented--L Lin Wood is famous for representing Richard Jewell, the fat bumbling wannabe cop (sounds familiar) who was suspected of the Atlanta Olympics bombing.
I don't see much value in fighting this hard this early to build up a client's reputation at the risk of showing your hand to the prosecution--fight for your life at trial first, then worry about what people think of you afterwards.
This case should be tried in federal court (crossing state lines with a firearm, likely gang/militia involvement--they have plenty of jurisdictional grounds to do it) as an adult, and after a hopeful change in leadership at the DOJ in January. I hate federal prosecutors but best ones are indeed effective at getting convictions, and I'd have more faith in them then whoever the fukk is the local DA in Kenosha.
