That letter is also a slap in the face to Wisconsin. In the first sentence it mentions the Mayor and Governor failed to maintain law. So 17 y/o super cac had to come up from Illinois to protect the city. I'm sure that angle will go over well in court too.
They'll stay on code. Maybe.
I know the actual police would

Goon Squad - Catset
do you have a source or a link for this.
A person is privileged to threaten or intentionally use force against another for the purpose of preventing or terminating what the person reasonably believes to be an unlawful interference with his or her person by such other person. The actor may intentionally use only such force or threat thereof as the actor reasonably believes is necessary to prevent or terminate the interference. The actor may not intentionally use force which is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily harm unless the actor reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself.

The presumption described in par. (ar) does not apply if any of the following applies:
1. The actor was engaged in a criminal activity or was using his or her dwelling, motor vehicle, or place of business to further a criminal activity at the time.

from section 939.48 here

Wisconsin Legislature: 939.48

so he broke the law by open-carrying a firearm underage, ergo the law protecting right to self-defense does not apply to him

No..

They not targeting the court but the same people funding his defense team right now...

That letter is almost an admission of defeat to me...but will sensationalize it to help the defense...

This....if I lawst I’d sue to get him disbarred
I work as a criminal defense investigator. Our office never talks to the media, and I've personally been involved in many cases that were widely publicized here in DC and some that made national news.

The legal team that's coalesced around him are mostly civil lawyers who work in lawsuits and are essentially public relations mitigation oriented--L Lin Wood is famous for representing Richard Jewell, the fat bumbling wannabe cop (sounds familiar) who was suspected of the Atlanta Olympics bombing.

I don't see much value in fighting this hard this early to build up a client's reputation at the risk of showing your hand to the prosecution--fight for your life at trial first, then worry about what people think of you afterwards.

This case should be tried in federal court (crossing state lines with a firearm, likely gang/militia involvement--they have plenty of jurisdictional grounds to do it) as an adult, and after a hopeful change in leadership at the DOJ in January. I hate federal prosecutors but best ones are indeed effective at getting convictions, and I'd have more faith in them then whoever the fukk is the local DA in Kenosha.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Lawyer made the first stupid mistake... Displaying his entire case for the prosecution, months to years before a trial. All they have to do is print this out, go through every single second with a fine comb, and find the holes in the story.....

Will that matter with the jury.. Probably not... But you never reveal your fukking case strategy

Honestly I wouldn't be mad if he's gets off. Maybe then black folks will realize these racist cacs ain't nothing to play with and strap up. Instead of shooting back and killing him, they got exposed as soft.

These cacs are dangerous and should be treated as such

sincerely doubt it

not with the video

as some said tho he might get a bullshyt sentence

What video? The NYT has accumulated all of the video (to my knowledge) into a timeline. What do you see that makes you sure he'll be convicted?

I hope the trial is public

I wanna see his face when he hears “guilty”

:unimpressed:
Won't happen. He has the support of AG Barr and Donald Trump. If you really think that AG Barr won't be able to influence whatever judge is in charge of the trial, you're high. We're no longer a country of due process, corruption is everywhere and Cacs will let this kid off the hook.
