But “African/black” are terms given to you by cacs. So with all that wealth of information you say you see concerning your ancestors, why aren’t you referring to yourself as they did? That’s one. Two I call it gatekeeper because what cacs did is pile all the black people up and push them as “African” when again we were EVERYWHERE. But now despite being everywhere they all get pushed into Africa while the white man gets to be the European/Hispanic/American and the Asian man gets to be Asian. It’s cap. It’s done this way so they can lay claim to those lands DESPITE blacks being their FIRST.
And again if you reach deep down in your bag, and come up with African/black? Then that’s cool. That’s you. Others reach in their bags and see Native American. Others reach in their bag and see Moor/European. Others Israelite. The days where we’re only see ourselves as black/African are done and they should be. We were everywhere.
(And by “we” I mean people that would be designated as “black”. I don’t mean the same group are all these people at the same time)
Lol, let’s just agree to disagree. If this is what works for you that’s fine. But we’re wasting each other’s time in doing this.
Also, we have no idea what the ancestors called themselves. What I do know is that humankind began in Africa and so this whole human experience stands on the shoulders of us. As such, those first humans created the concepts which would later be so important today. So why would I even concern myself with a later designation if it isn’t the source according to me? That’s really the crux of our argument here. For you, taking on any ol name which comes with allegories that fit your own struggle is perfectly fine and for me owning our actual story is more important. Different people are in different places in life so what fits is what fits.
