So he can essentially opt in to his final year and then “retire” or agree to a trade.

I just seen Kyrie IG video and it's rare for me to say this but I actually agree with him for once.
Kyrie does not feel comfortable taking the vaccine for whatever reason, and that is his choice. He also acknowledge the consequences of his decisions, and seem to accept them.

The only way Kyrie would be in the wrong is if he straight up told the Nets "I'm not taking the vaccine, it is wrong for you to make that a requirement, and stop restricting my right to play".
It's the same as anti-vax people getting mad at business for requiring masks or public events for requiring vaccination. That is when there is a problem.

I have not heard anything of that nature from Kyrie, so until then I support breh.

Sound sound sound
The economy is done for at this point. But a better way to put your question is would I lose my job for something I believe in. And the answer is yes I would. I wouldn’t allow govt mandated pressure to sway me away from my position. But that’s because I’m not scared. You guys seem to be.

All cap.

Is it about covid or the govt making people get it? Because if it’s about the disease then everyone should be on the chopping block who isn’t getting it. Yet only Kyrie and furthermore only the NBA are being discussed. The NBA is 95% vaccinated yet they want to talk about the 5% who aren’t

While on the other hand the MLB NFL and NHL are all vaccinated less than that. Yet the media doesn’t discuss their numbers or who is unvaccinated among them. Let’s also be clear that YOU are scared that this plague is going to take you out so you ran to the govt to save you. And that’s fine. Just keep it real wit ya self instead of projecting fear unto others...

I believe only the MLB has lower vax rate than NBA

NFL is about the same

and the NHL apparently only has 4 players total who ain’t lol

No it wouldn't because then he'd be purposely causing distractions in the locker room

And yes it is a distraction because they should be focused on winning the championship, instead they now have to focus on how the team will operate without its star PG, and the media (which absolutely has a right to question his decisions) putting a bigger magnifying glass on the team.

He’s 100% capable of doing that.

Remember when he fought the media last year for no reason? And all the carrying on in Boston? Lol.

He loves the attention.

It’s a matter of personal rights. He knows what he’s dealing with if he catches it, whether it be media or personal health.

We’ve livid in a Covid World. Now it’s a Vac World. Anyone can Catch the Rona regardless of a vac or not. Let the man play.

True but the vaccine makes it less likely to catch it and less likely to spread it but most importantly it reduces the severity of the symptoms hopefully meaning less deaths and less people draining hospital resources.

I mean your argument can apply to a lot of things. Anyone can cause a car crash. Hell, sober drivers probably amount for more car crashes than drunk drivers do. Let the man drink.

The notion that it is his choice not to get vaccinated and people should respect his decision. The same way businesses who force vaccination should be respected as well. In the end it is their choice.
Sure there may be consequences, but Kyrie seems to be okay with it. That is why I don't see what the complaints are all about right now.

The Nets may trade Kyrie, or Kyrie might retire due to his hesitancy of taking the shot. As long as he does not complain about the consequences it's all good :manny:.

NHL Commissioner Says 'Four Players' Remain Unvaccinated as 2021 Season Kicks Off

The NHL has all but four players who have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

On Tuesday, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman announced that the league achieved more than 99 percent of vaccinated players by the season-opening game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Pittsburgh Penguins.

"Our vaccination rate is incredible," Bettman said. "Four players, not four percent of players. All of our officials are vaccinated. All of the personnel that comes into contact with the players are vaccinated."
