I have no problem with athletes or stars expressing their feelings or beliefs if they can do so intelligently with the willingness to stand on it…my problem is many of them are fukking flaky and shallow as hell…this goes for a lot of athletes and hollywood stars as well…white, black whatever

I think it's there. I'm a mod on a sub-reddit and yesterday we had to ban a bunch of folks for straight up denying the holocaust and supporting Hitler. This site is way less moderated, and I see alt-right, neo-nazi talking points on basically every sub-forum here on The Coli almost daily. A lot of it is posted with just enough wiggle room for them to have just enough plausibility to pretend like they aren't actually white supremacist infiltrators. But they're repeating every single neo-nazi white supremacist talking point, even if they're "just asking questions."

In the jiujitsu world yesterday this athlete Kyle Boehm said the holocaust was a hoax when someone asked him his thoughts re: Kyrie, and one of the bigger orgs in the sport stripped him of his title and said he's not welcome to compete for them anymore. Jiujitsu is a small time sport so it's not gonna be big news, but I imagine it'll keep happening.

I think this is gonna be a thing for a little while. People are gonna keep coming out to support the latest person to get deplatformed, and for a while we're going to keep seeing more dominos fall. It'll calm down but I still predict we'll see a couple more names before the end of the year also shoot themselves in the foot and lose it all.
