I keep seeing the phrase “on code” being tossed around…if black folks had been on code with kanye and kyrie early on when they were making against the grain comments (some of which were disparaging against us on kanye’s end) then maybe we wouldn’t have to watch them get spanked in the media by outsiders with worse intentions…but instead many black folks even those in position to reach/help them continuously made excuses for them (I’m a little bit guilty of this too)…now that it’s too late folks wanna talk about get “on code”
This the shyt I’m stuck on. When the fukk did “staying on code” mean form like Voltron to defend any and everything a Black person does regardless of how stupid or dangerous it is?
Someone like Kanye didn’t give a damn about staying on code when he was saying wild shyt about slavery or kissing Trump’s ass but now it’s our duty as a race to fall on the sword to protect him now that others are coming after him?
In the case of Kyrie, I don’t think he’s a hateful person, I don’t think he’s some type of villainous monster. Really I think his downfall is that he’s a contrarian that desperately wants to be seen as the smartest person in the room. Combine those two things and it’s a perfect match for someone to be easily influenced by these grifting right-wing conspiracy nuts.

hiring dumb shyt actors to give interviews and no security allowing him to enter restricted zone because he's a fukking civilian
