its crazy toronto doesnt have a min wage of at least 15
Yeah if you live anywhere near or north of the city you'd probly struggle to survive on anything under $20 an hour. I think they're pretty good about co-op type stuff and helping ppl out though.

No clue if the states help out like that

I never understood this. Is it the purpose of a business to pay people a "livable wage"?
no, but its the purpose of the society they operate in to decide what one is :heh:

these motherfukkers have to eat. the answer is food stamps or they starve, so why not hit businesses for a little more? fukk em

I disagree that society should decide these things, but I recognize that states and cities have the power to.

Why not hit business for a little more?

Well, what effect does making employing more expensive have on:

Job growth?

Worker's hours?

The cost of goods?

LA specifically, has a true problem with rent control... muhfukkas can really charge anything they want, in any neighborhood.

Now, if there was some legislation that came into play, where rent cannot exceed X amount of dollars based upon the median income of the neighborhood/zip code...with areas North of Wilshire, the Hills... and a few other traditionally higher income areas being excluded it'd do far more good than just raising the minimum wage.

what can i say breh, i dont have the answers :heh:

greed shouldnt get a pass. take mcdonalds. tomorrow, they could say "every franchise bump wages a little, and well bump the franchise fee down a few points when you comply

are they obligated to do that? nah, absolutely not. im not a fukkin communist. but they stay raking in millions at the top. they have millions and millions to spend on advertising, so at what point do you make that revenue be shared?

and if they dont wana do it willingly...what choice is there besides bumping min wage and taxes? someone has to feed and house people who work these fukkin jobs

i dont know :wow:

There has to be a law stopping people who overcharge rent to people. Rent should be no more than 1k per month in a decent neighborhood under this law, or even lower.

Even if you get full time(which the vast majority of the workers won't) it's still crap pay. I don't know how anybody lives in these major cities on MW
