2 years ago my old apartment was $1200 for 2 bed room apartment
now its $1600 and they are begging people to move in because so many moved out
if they woulda kept it at $1200 and maybe lowered what they paid the management there by 5% or so they woulda retained the customers instead of trying to swindle people into $1600 a month for 800 square feet apartments
I mean I can see $50 increase in rent cause they have about 200 apartments or so thats an extra $120k a year in revenue
but $400 increase

and you cant use the excuse thats what the market is dictating cause
1) a lot of empty houses/apartments, so obviously people cant afford it
2) the people who were tenants had to move out because of the price increase
3) people dont want to move in because its too expensive
4) no other apartments in the area are charging that pricing, so where did they come up with the new $400 extra a month excuse outside of "new management"

people were already struggling to pay $1200 a month, cause not only is that already high but taxes in california are ridiculous

on top of PG&E + if you got services like comcast/at&t uverse im sure are higher priced in california than in other states cause they can get away with it
