Chinese factories are closing and they are laying off workers. This is looking bad for both countries.

90% of China's economy is based off export. 15% of that is from the US. Thats only what? 3% of China's GDP lol.
That's not going to lay a dent to China's economy once the tariffs pops off. That article is most likely Chinese companies working DIRECTLY with America companies. They are the only ones thats gonna feel the pain.

But on the flip side, America is screwed. There the ones that's gonna be affected the most when they need shoes, toys, clothing, etc.... Not the average Chinese citizen living in Shenzen.

And the US isn't? :francis:

:mjlol:
Trump is already blinking and folding spreading lies about making 200 deals and talking to China everyday. While Trump bullshyts you, China is already making REAL moves. As a matter fact, they will be making deal with the European Union by next month. This is right after making deals with Canada and Australia. Who are supposed to be allies to the US.

China already has Japan shook not to cross them. We're still waiting to hear back from Korea also.

But the environmental costs of freighting superfluous disposable items from across the world isn't a valid factor

The more discourse I witness in my lifetime the more difficult it is to see widespread intellect in humanity

Yes sir. Starting in May there will likely be empty shelves and shortages of some products.

Well he and Musty Leon did say there was going to be some pain before all the winning starts :ld:

It will be interesting to see the ripples.

Even if there aren’t full layoffs , the amount of reduced hours at large employers like Amazon, Target, or Walmart might be the bigger problem. No stock means less work and less profit.

If you’re laid off, you can get unemployment. Reduced hours means your still employed but your bills are still the same.

Yup, all the factory workers, truckers, and Port workers. They the ones that’s gonna feel it first if not already. I expect huge layoffs in that sector.

I heard the Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach already feeling the pain right now. Trump doesn’t know this but he’s gonna cause huge ripple affects soon. Even if he reverses the tariffs tomorrow it’s still gonna be a massive hit to the supply chain. This isn’t something you can turn on and off.

This is the problem with panic: toilet paper and paper towels are by far domestically made from companies like Georgia Pacific, etc.

But when people panic they buy shyt without rhyme or reason and it will still stock out despite not being directly impacted from tariffs.

I remember when the COVID panic buying kicked off and dudes at my local grocery store had carts full of bottled water :why:

Toilet paper was untouched until the following week.
I didn’t literally mean paper products.

A bunch of things will be unavailable and folks will be upset. That was my point

The US prior to tarrif's had great unfair deals it had cut with poor nations decades ago when countries were still fast asleep..
No nation now should now accept the old US terms, they would be doing the US a huge undeserved favor at their own expense..demand higher for your commodities and such and if the US wont pay tell them to :camby:

60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. So what happens when they can’t even afford Walmart anymore? :francis:
They send the police in to evict tens of thousands of families like they’re already doing.
