He went a bit further than 'having a different opinion'. He crapped on someone's entire career. That's kinda hating, he could have been more diplomatic in his criticism.

did he really?

the interviewer asked him a question, he answered, and that was it.

i don't think what he said was controversial at all. not in 2024. this would've been a big topic like 15 years ago, maybe, but today? Not even.

Drake is Pop. sure, he raps and is a fan of the culture, but he's Pop.

what's the problem in saying that?

He's a popular artist who raps but who's music a lot of times does contain and have Pop elements in it.

He went further and said it made him think of shopping. That's an insult. You don't see that?

ok? and? what's the problem with that? popular music plays in department stores all the time.

i honestly don't see that as an insult.

i think where people like you see it as an insult is because he sorta smiled and laughed when he was saying it.

25 years ago, when I first discovered message boards, Labtek was on Hiero.com dissing Souls of Mischief.
He said he served them in a battle or that they refused to battle him. Lab threatened to release a diss track, which I guess is the equivalent to a podcast nowadays. Good to see he’s still a crab after a quarter century.
:salute:

If DOOM's people don't have an issue with it....and as far as I know, they haven't spoken up....who cares what other people think?

This guy is actually doing what people accused Mos Def of doing, when he was asked about Drake. The irony is crazy.

I watched it once I don't even remember his facial expression.
Music is music. When you equate to something else like shopping it's an insult. Now, people who are fans of the person you insulted are going to take shots at you. See the original post if this thread.

I was listening to an older episode of Midnight Miracle (Mos' pod w Kweli and Chappelle) and he was singing Drake's praises. He wasn't dissing Drake, even tho the world took it that way. People just don't understand Mos.

If someone equated his music to shopping at Target I'm sure he wouldn't like it.
