i chose basketball instead even though i played baseball just as long. I just always had hoop dreams but looking back I would of like to stick with baseball. more of us need to get back into it.

Same can be said about football. :ehh:

You can play Football with 3 people, breh. One QB for both "teams". We used to do that as kids. Have one of the older dudes who was around play QB. I played all 3 sports growing up. Hell, we used to play all 3 in the same day. We used to even have street vs street football games. We had tons of teens and kids on the block growing up. Even as the older dudes hit their 20's they'd still play football. It was a lot more nerve wracking then though. Weed and gangbanging eventually ended all that sport shyt for the older dudes.

Our version of "pickup" baseball was to play 1-1 in the schoolyard. N1ggas would draw a strike zone on the wall, and you had to pitch the ball and hit the box. If you hit a ball on the ground, it had to be caught before the third bounce for it to be an out. As we got older, home runs would be different. At first you had to just hit it over the fence. Then it was the street, then across the street. Fun times. Trying to get my son to appreciate baseball, but he's too wrapped up in basketball. He's like :scust: when I'm sitting there geeking hard at a 2-1 pitchers duel.

i played baseball all the way up thru high school. the shyt is boring if you just watchin and its expensive to start compared to basketball.

you need a full 9 on 9 for baseball to really be baseball but with basketball you can play 1v1 2v2 3v3 on just half of a court. hell you can play 21 with 3-4 people.

1) Baseball isn't as convenient for pick-up, especially if you can't find a place and enough people to run a game. Try to crank it in the streets and your ball gets roofed, it's gone. Also got to take gloves and the have-nots into consideration.

With hoops and football, you can show up to the park after school or in your work clothes, and if someone has a rock, it's game on.

2) No alluring highlights. To a kid that's not in the know, a tripe play or a long homer is what is just supposed to happen. No one's getting excited about an error causing a double when there are highlights of The Beast Quake, Steph Curry making Chris Paul fall before disrespectfully shooting a wild 3 in an entire team's face, or Wiggins shytting on Omar Asik.

What's modern baseball's equivalent to OBJ's catch? Kids can imitate that all day and all they need is a ball.

Did you seriously ask what was the baseball equivalent to a nice catch?

A nice catch.

not really...you can play a small subset of football only (pitch and catch). even in tackle pickup football everyone just plays qb+wrs/cb, and one guy who counts off before rushing/spy

aint no way someone can play a tackle, center, guard, defensive end, defensive tackle, ILB, RB in pickup games realistically. you have to have very organized teams for that.
in bball soccer and baseball you can have everyone doing their thing. you cant become a star guard or tackle playing pitch and catch in the park. football is extremely specialized
