We understand she can’t compete and that is a government issue. Be real: what small business can compete with Amazon? The return policy? Sourcing of goods? Depth of selection? Why was Amazon allowed to get so big that they provide everything from grocery to cloud platforms? Literally nothing the USA has done lately has been to protect small businesses that werent in high margin sectors.
Again, we understand it. The real disappointment is you back a 2021 business paying 2010-level wages.

yeah it's a government issue and who is "we"? You may understand but i see nikkas in here showing no empathy and even calling her lazy and cheap. nikkas in here be happy when small business owners fail, it's some hoe ass shyt.

It might be that. nikkas think it's so easy for little businesses to offer higher wages. The responses in this thread are pathetic, as if a regular woman has the ability to compete with corporations on wages

Some business ownere, both big and small, have irrational expectations to the income they going to bring home. If they get off the ground and start making a successful operation, the owner feels like they should start making $300k just because their business is in the black for 6 consecutive months, while the employees should be happy to still be working for $12 an hour. :hhh:

You in business to deliver a QUALITY product, not in it for cheap shortcuts to get huge $$$ by low balling employees and ripping off customers.

OK I can see what you were saying. It is unfortunate though that there is a paradigm shift on the horizon and small business owners are still trying to live like they are big business owners: getting as much labor for the lowest possible cost. I dont want any business failing (my neighborhood has empty storefronts for days) but its hard to feel sorry when a small business is more likely to want to operate on underpaid labor but not get why the place down the block offering a couple bucks more, benefits, and a more consistent work schedule is winning.

IF she so popular as they say, they'll come to her no matter what/where she selling from.. she could just cut the brick and mortar costs out and just serve out the crib, grab like 2 of the employees thats decent and been fukking with her and just pass the increased pay to them...

How did she treat them on a regular basis? Was it pleasant during busy hours? Or was she a cult, screaming and barking at her employees for not being fast enough?

More willful ignorance about how the world has changed post COVID. Just like how they convinced themselves it would pass over like it’s some sort of storm cloud business owners are doing the same thing with their benefits. People have been home with their kids, some of them have been on their death bed…seen their family members on their death bed. People have finally realized what Europe realized decades ago, that a job is a job. You should work to live, not live to work. Nobody trying to get yelled at and have games played with them and their time and still barely be able to make ends meet. I can struggle and do gig work on my own pace and not have to deal with nobody acting like a jackass over some funky cupcakes.

Exactly, they didnt list to no figures so why should I assume she pays her employees $12 an hour to maintain a 300k salary? Again, y'all just assume some bullshyt.

when you go around telling bakery-level employees that "those jobs are not supposed to be real jobs...you need to do better" you don't get to turn around complaining that people should go back to being exploited. The pandemic showed a lot of people where they stood when shyt hits the fan. Why would anybody go back to these jobs for less than livable wages? And please don't go into "what is livable wages" because alot of yall will sit here and say "OTHER PEOPLE can live on those shytty wages easy, but not me though i need more :troll:".

Why does she need employees? Tons of people run their bakeries by themselves or with an assistant. If she has the equipment, you can pre-bake things and reduce your custom orders.

the pandemic basically expose how some of these businesses don’t have a good model outside of exploiting cheap labor.

Not really people just have the mindset that pay should be based on the cost of living not really the job or skill.
