If people really cared that much about authenticity, when Rick ross was exposed his career would have tanked. It didn't because the majority of people that listen to rap understand that most of these dudes either didn't do that shyt, weren't that deep in it, or are never going back to that lifestyle because they now have a stable source of income that can't be confiscated by law enforcement.When was the last time an Italian actor got pressed/criticized for not actually being in the mafia?
This argument makes no sense, italians arent pushing for actors to be authentic, unlike us who push for rappers to be real in their music.
People are smart enough to not give a shyt if push T actually sold cocaine. It doesn't matter if he did, it doesn't suddenly make his production sound worse or his lyrics less clever. We saw that in real time with Rick ross.
