Teams were trash before they showed up, they came because it's Los Angeles.

Its the same reason why people want to play in NY but won't go there until Melo is gone. Stars or borderline stars won't touch the cities because of the stars that are there now

Half of them were traded here and Jerry Buss was a big factor, the players know who is running the team now.. and even when Shaq came, you had eddie johnson and other good pieces. You think a guy is choosing Jordan Clarkson over Tim Duncan and POP??

Team still wouldn't be a playoff team but we'd have more wins and it would be more of an attractive place to play without Kobe.

Literally every player respects him, and has said so publicly. Ofcourse now they don't because the roster overall sucks, you are not looking at roster but separating Kobe as the sole reason. We can remove Kobe from the team, and Aldridge/other free agents still wouldn't have joined. There is no reason to join a lottery team.

But if youre looking for an actual reason, you bring back a team that was awful last season and add one of the worst players in the league (Kobe) to come in and take the majority of the shots, along w other has-beens like Hibber and Artest that contribute nothing.

It was always gonna be this way. Not even the Lakers front office were delusional enough to actually have playoff expectations, and whoever told you that lied.
