Duncan winning the same number of rings is more dangerous to Kobe's legacy. IMO

How can you claim to be the best from your era if another player won just as much as you did and have more awards?

Laker fans can argue that Lebron started winning titles once Kobe fell. You can't make that argument with Duncan.

See the thing is I don't even want to "argue" tho... I was a WITNESS. History was a witness. Outside of the Coli there is a consensus. A historical record. The historical record recalls a young Kobe and Shaq Lakers and Tim Duncan's first seeded Spurs in 2001 taking one of the biggest L's in NBA history, one of the games being a 48 point Beanfest where he dunked on litearlly the entire team. These philosophical games of "if hes from your era and did this, but he didnt do that, and if he did, it was this X variable" are usually restricted to the Internet and ESPN talking heads. This brilliant season by Kobe vs Duncan's good season is another testament to the difference between them. It's really not close :manny:

1. Lebron
2. Kobe
3. Durant

:pachaha: it's a lose lose for kobe stans

Tim Duncan wins and gets that 5th title or Lebron wins and gets his 2nd finals mvp and continue to mirror the Goats path to 6

nikkas gonna be on suicide watch in a few weeks

in 014 we will have 40mil in cap space :blessed:

i expect kobe to be back possibly a 3yr deal around 35mil? that leaves us room for 1 more superstar player possibly 2

But look a little further, to that 2014-15 season, and you’ll see something else: The Lakers’ projected payroll is almost completely clear. Only Nash is signed for that season, at $9.7 million, though the Lakers will also be paying about $20 million to Howard if they can re-sign him this coming summer.
In July 2013, Bryant’s $30.4 million, Pau Gasol’s $19.2 million, Metta World Peace’s $7.7 million, Steve Blake‘s $4 million and Jordan Hill’s $3.5 million will come off the books. There likely won’t even be any first-round draft picks filling up the cap, either, as the Lakers have already traded their 2013 first-round pick to Phoenix in the Nash deal.
Opposing teams that are making their own long-range free agency plans think they see the Lakers’ plan coming into focus. As it stands, L.A. will have enough cap space to add a superstar l
“It’s not a mistake that all those deals end the same year Kobe’s does. They have probably been planning for their next phase for a while,” said one general manager. “The Busses and [Lakers GM] Mitch [Kupchak] are always thinking about the next big deal.”

Brilliant season, 8th seed and blowing out your achilles? :russ: And you're right, it's not close, Tim can still walk :smugbiden:

Either Bron wins and you all have to deal with the talk of him being better, or the media recognizes Tim as better :blessed:

What a truly glorious season.

Yeah he had total control over both of those things :stopitslime:

The media will recognize the Finals MVP Tony Parker as the best PG in the game, and give Duncan a "Wow what a great old player, look at his modest stats" dikk sucking for about 2 weeks. I'm watching the game right now and I don't see a better player than Kobe right now.

Nope, Timmy still got more finals MVPs than Kobe so dont even for a second try to bring those up :fukkyapost:

I see a better player than Kobe, unless you think a nikka in a walking boot could go out there and do anything :Nopostmoves:
