JKK was definitely on dat :mjpls:

But they already indicated before the credits for the intro came on that they would be juicing shyt up for drama purposes

Might peep the book this show is based on though

Showtime is good. Jeff Pearlman also has a book on the Phil-Kobe-Shaq Lakers that they should make into a series next.

I never heard that Norm Nixon embarrassed Magic in public pre-draft, either, correct me if I'm wrong. They took a whole lot of creative liberties with this one, which is typical for shows like this.

Seems like everything was pretty accurate except that part:

"One of Winning Time episode 1's most intriguing moments is when Magic Johnson meets Los Angeles Lakers point guard Norm Nixon at a party, and a game of 1 v 1 erupts between them. This is one element in Winning Time that appears to be fake. There is no record of Magic and Norm Nixon competing with each other in this fashion. It is known that Norm was quite jealous of Magic and felt threatened by him, but a public 1 v 1 game as presented in Winning Time episode 1 seems far-fetched still. If the two basketball stars did compete in a head-to-head game like this, it likely happened behind closed doors in the future."

Norm Nixon: what make this nikka so magical?:dead:

Norm Nixon: Where you from, you from Ohio?

Magic: I’m from Lansing, Michigan.

Norm Nixon: Oh you one of them country ass nikkas.:mjlol:

When the old Lakers owner Cooke was calling Magic a thoroughbred and boy.

Jerry Buss sitting next to me like :whoa: chill out.
You can tell this show gonna be great.

ironically norm is from Georgia telling Magic from a straight rust belt city that he’s country.

Naw I knew he suffered from depression but they got him as a flat out maniac in this shyt

He always seemed so mild mannered to me

His portrayal is surprising and incredibly entertaining he can’t be happy with this :pachaha:

One of the episodes of Basketball: A Love Story, Pat Riley said Jerry West was a genius but one of the most miserable people he’s even been around when his team loses.

If Pat Riley of all people said someone is miserable in defeat, West must be really really bad.

I forgot about that I remember when Riley said that :laff:

Every scene with Jerry West is COMEDY at the highest level
