health above all else but if i were him i would have spoke privately with ownership and just sat on the bench all year on some Haslem shyt so he still technically could have got a ring

Lol then the Nets would miss out on using the money from his contract to add a new player

Love
Wish him well. :salute:
I always liked his game. Dude was my ultimate mancrush (no homo) froma PF standpoint during his POR days. Reminded me a lot of Rasheed Wallace back then.
But when your health at risk you gotta take it seriously

Salute to LA, health is more important and he’s made his money so he had to do it. I had an irregular heart beat and had to have a cardioversion to fix it. It’s a somewhat intimidating procedure and you’re twice as likely to have an irregular heartbeat again even after fixing it.

For anyone saying he shouldn’t have retired - when your heart beat is irregular, you’re more likely to form blood clots which can ultimately lead to having a stroke. Factor in the constant flying and high intensity performance, it’s too risky. I had my procedure in 2018 and I still have episodes if I’m not sleeping enough, anxious or drinking too much.

He'll still get a ring tho right? I thought anyone who was a part of the team during the championship season got a ring. So guys like Levert and Allen would get rings also, even tho they were traded.

The older you get the more you :whoa: at things.

Im sure if Jeff has something happen he will do the same .

Yeah I can’t blame him especially let’s be honest he’s made more than enough money. Health is wealth. And it’s just not worth it.

Portland had one of the GOAT two-year draft streaks if not for injuries. :beli:

In 2006 they flipped fukking Tyrus Thomas at #4 into LMA at #2, finessed Boston for the #7 pick with Sebastian Telfair (how?) and then Minnesota let them flip it into Brandon Roy at #6, then Phoenix gave them Sergio Rodriguez for straight cash at #27.

In 2007 they drafted Greg Oden #1 and then paid Phoenix cash to get Rudy Fernandez at #24.

Sergio
Brandon Roy
Rudy
LMA
Greg Oden

They drafted an entire starting lineup in just 2 years and the only player they had to give up was Sebastian Telfair. They had like 4 second-round picks those years too to fill out the roster cheap.

If only they could have drafted knees for Roy/Oden and a back for Rudy. :francis:
