Narcissists have extremely high self confidence and are very good socially. Thats how they can manipulate people so well. This guy was no narcissist. The problem with social anxiety is it often doesnt manifest itself in writing. This guy could write all day about himself and his feelings but when it comes to verbalising it to other human beings, the social anxiety simply wont allow him to do it. This guy was absolutely not a narcissist or sociopath.

no, they don't have high confidence. they have extremely low confidence, that is why they constantly need validation from other people. some of them develop an ability to pretend like they have high self confidence and very good social skills because that allows them to get validation from other people. but if they feel slighted they have the same raging anger that this dude had, because it reminds them of their perceived inferiority. so this dude might have had social anxiety of top of his narcissim, which prevented him from getting the validation he craved. but the anger, sense of entitlement and need for validation he displayed are clearly the traits of a narcissist.

No not at all. Royce White has generalized anxiety disorder. Social Anxiety is a completly different animal in regards to being a productive member of society and getting laid.



No but theres millions of sufferers of social anxiety that are in the same position as Elliot. Youve got to understand the disease first. Theres so much ignorance surrounding it and unless you actually have it, you wouldnt believe how truly crippling it is. Especially if you want to reproduce and earn income through work. Because nobody with social anxiety has a chance in the 21st century interview for jobs scenario. Let alone speaking to a stranger into having sexual relations with them. It just doesnt happen. Now if this disease was recognized and resaerched properly we might be able to get somewhere. At the moment theres so little information that we are stuck in this "man up and be like everybody else" stage. Which as I said before simply you cant do it with social anxiety. I mean you really ohysically cant do it. Theres no exposure therapy to social situations that is going to fix the chemical imbalance in your brain. Thats why the only known cures to social anxiety are MDMA and Alcohol.

Anything that inhibits GABA receptors in the brain from firing off is going to help w/anxiety. Xanax, Beta blockers are some other alternatives. I feel like I have social anxiety on a very small level, definitely glad I don't have it any worse.
