First off, nobody fukking cares if they won or lost. Don't sit here and act like NBA scouts give two fukks about that. And show me some AAU clips of these top prospects playing astute and 100% effort defense?

Also, I never said he was a first round pick. At the end of the day, at 16 years old he played a top team in a top league and held his own. You're not going to sit here and act like Euroleague players aren't better than AAU and HS teenagers. He's also only 17 now and is slated for 2 more euro seasons. You got nikkas in here calling him trash and that the IT guy at the YMCA is better, FOH. Idk if he's a 1st round pick but its perfectly conceivable to say he has a much better shot than Gelo did, and if he doesn't make the NBA he'll definitely be in the Euroleague.

edit: Also, after he played well in that one game, he was getting loan offers from that very same team.. So at 16 years old he was considered a Euroleague level talent and was wanted on loan by a top 10 Euroleague team. But hey, guess Brad from IT department could do the same right?

I dont know your day 1 position on the kid, but i find it funny the goalposts have moved among the BBB faithful from "cant miss prospect , to maybe not 1st round , to he for sure will play Euroleague!"

My position is, aside from frame and a propensity for inefficiently chucking 3's, nothing in this kid looks like he's for sure an NBA prospect. He looks like an above average high school baller, thats it . Not to mention, theres very little objective body of work that makes him look good.

And thats no insult to the kid. Many better ballers than him have not made the league.

Everything BBB fans cite as evidence are either subjective or aren't fool proof. Even Lonzo making the league and Melo "being better" than Lonzo was isnt a guarantee (see: Steph vs. Seth Curry).

Also, show me proof the top level team wanted him.

Everything I find says he did not get offers for the Zalgiris First Team. They wanted to play for their Under 18 Junior team.

Luka and Rubio were playing for the 1st teams when they were 16. Europe has no qualms putting under 18 year olds on 1st team, if they're good enough.

Even at 6'7 he's not an explosive athlete. He can't shoot. He can't defend, he can't rebound and he has zero discipline on top of that he has been insulated by his father his whole life. Neither of the Ball Brothers are making the NBA.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say that he doesn’t have a shot, I think he has a much better chance than Gelo, but yeah...I’m confused at what he’s shown for some people to think he’s a 1st round lock.

Luka and Rubio were playing for the 1st teams when they were 16. Europe has no qualms putting under 18 year olds on 1st team, if they're good enough.

luka and rubio came up in that system .....Zalgrius probably wanted to take an initial look at Melo at the Adidas Next tournament and then take it from there. Lavar should've let him go to zalgrius.
