you dont become a better defender over-nigh,t for the most part its natural for wings. Paul George, Kobe, Wade, etc. were great perimeter defeders EARLY on in their career. Players that come in playing no D on the perimeter usually leave the game the exact way. And he's showed little offensive growth since he's been in the league. He relies heavily on 3's and slashing. Lance seems to get better offensively every year. I can visually see things he adds to his game each year. Right now, he does everything better than Harden outside of scoring more points. If he scoring 13ppg on 11fga on 47% shooting why is out of the realm of possibility to assume he can be a 22, 7 and 6 dude that provides excellent defense and energy aka better than Harden?

I feel Stephenson is a better ball handler, passer and rebounder. The only thing Harden has over him is shooting and that's because he gets off more shot attempts.

When Harden was playing alongside a star, his numbers were small too.

I don't agree with the thread, however I think Stephenson has the potential to be more than just a role player, he has one of the best handles at the SG position and he's basically turning into the player we thought Tyreke Evans could become.

His jumpshot is really the key, if it becomes consistent he has the talent to be an all-star, not many 2s in the league are as big as him or have the handle he has.

im not saying he's better now, Im saying he could be. I think he 'will' be, but of course i'll give it time before I say that. I think its a fair discussion. And I think its an ironic comparison considering nobody thought Harden would be a top 2 SG, when he was in OKC

Forget about Harden.

Lance has better handles, rebounding and playmaking ability than Paul George. And you've already predicted 22 ppg for Lance in the future. Why isnt that a better player than George?

While I definitely wouldn't take Stephenson over Harden yet, when you factor in defense the comparison gets a whole lot closer. Harden has been a sieve on defense and probably gives up more than he scores on a given night.
