Putting his terribly ignorant stereotypes aside, I don't think kids should be taught to submit to all forms of authority. It's more important that they be taught to question things, especially from people claiming to be "authority figures".

Questioning is fine and there's a place for it, but antagonistic behavior is the face of typical authority figures usually doesn't end well.

Some good c00ning here.

What's c00ning about it? People that refuse to listen to authority can't stay in school or hold a job. In the hood they end up in prison. Foote is 100% right. Most times you have to accede to your coach, employer, teacher, etc to succeed in life. If I openly defy my professor or boss nd refuse to do my work or assignments, I'll be kicked out of school and unemployed soon enough. And then my life is over. Foote is just saying the truth. Marshawn needs to reign in his behaviour.

I get his point. Not sure it was needed to for public discussion.

Inner city kids ain't losing because of lack of respect for authority.

Also, where are the facts? If you want to talk about prisons, that leads into a bigger discussion about broken homes, inner city policing, and underfunded schools.

All this respect authority is a roundabout way of saying know your place. Nothing wrong with respecting institutions but as Africans we don't teach our kids to question everything and be their own person. Marshawn is an intelligent business man who recognizes the game, that isn't emphasized, no the focus is on him not answering the same bs question.

Im so sick of the media and how they portray black people in a negative light.. The man doesn't want to speak.. What is the problem with that.. If saying the same answer over and over is adequate then that should be the end of that, because he fulfilled those requirements, and it only made people MORE interested in him, thus he did his job in giving the league promotion.

ESPN runs an article today on the front page with the headline with the headline of Gronk saying "'Screw It, I'm Throwing Haymakers'.

How is that not a worse example for kids than a man that chooses to say nothing at all.. But that the game the media plays.
