@Ironman Thanks breh.
As controversial as it is to talk about, imagine this...
What would our team look like on a game by game basis if the lineup was Frank, Timmy, Mikal, KP & Kanter(or O'Quinn).
Stay with me real quick.
Now imagine Kanter's abilities stayed the same, defunct on D and somehow just as efficient on offensive. Imagine Timmy continues to tremd towards being a serviceable 2 on defense. Frank being Frank on D and getting more comfortable offensively and Mikal actually being an elite defensive player. And Kp beasting lile Kp does.
Even w/ Kanter's defense, the rebounds, offensive output and elite defense at most positions would be a very interesting sight to see.
Again, that wasn't an endorsement of Kanter.

), athletic, defensive minded players with 2-way capability.
Kristaps does a really good job at staying in front of his man when he's defending the main ball handler, even when he's switched off on a guard( which is the biggest thing that separates him from Gobert imo, you can't iso and exploit KP on the perimeter to the extent you can with Gobert) but you're right, all of his defensive problems come off ball because he even eventually loses his man if they're active off ball, but he also has a tendency to help off a lot and at the wrong times, so he leaves shooters( most times another stretch 4) wide open. I think he overextends himself on defense because he has a natural inclination to protect the rim, and he doesn't trust his teammates to keep their man in front of them, so he leaves his man to either provide weak side help or contain the drive while giving up a wide open three. So regardless of whether KP is a 4 or a 5, he's gonna have to learn to stick his man on the perimeter better and be more timely with his help, because teams can still just put a smaller guy at 5 spot to exploit him if they feel the need to because KP doesn't rebound well, his post game is too inconsitent to take advantage of a smaller man, and the Knicks don't have anybody who will attack the rim and exploit the lack of a big man. I think it's more important to just find a guy to help offload some of the defensive responsibilities too until KP is strong enough to play the 5 full time. I think the move has to be made eventually, but until he's ready to do so, a big who can defend the paint, perimeter and help take some of the strain off of him, is welcome imo( Nerlens Noel

Breh, why can't he continue to try to become a better dribbler?
