Nah, Ulster county is Upstate to me. I been to Kingston, New Paltz, Saugerties, Marlborogh. Definitely an upstate feel to it.
Greene and Sullivan are so country, its not even funny.
Even parts of Dutchess county are so different. The southwest quadrant of Dutchess, from Hyde Park down to Beacon and eastward to the Taconic is pretty much all built up in many places. Outside of that, there's a lot less. In Clinton Corners or Amenia, you wouldn't even know you're in the same county as Poughkeepsie. Rhinebeck and Poughkeepsie are about 20 minutes apart, yet they are really a world apart. You can walk around downtown Rhinebeck and see all the mom and pop type stores/restaurants and get that feel of a small town. You walk around downtown Poughkeepsie... and its a totally different feeling lol.
