Let me explain the problem with this argument...Most serious (not casual) football fans believe the Patriots are cheaters or have cheated.
This is a loooong rumored thing and many people believe it and call them cheaters
Now...imagine if the FBI surprise raided the patriots offices, the NFL offices, and the homes of Kraft and Bellicheck - took computers, ran the emails, metadata etc etc...
and came up w/nothing.
THEN....imagine if the feds raided them all over again next year....and again....nothing.
I'd argue that most rational thinking NFL fans, would let that rumor die or give them their props...that's A LOT of independent investigating, no?

Even when you show them evidence to the contrary, which would at least make the average person uncertain and second guess their opinion, they try as hard as they can to dismiss it. Why are they so quick to believe the worst about someone, especially someone they're a fan of, but the possibility of that person not being a criminal makes them sick? Or they don't trust it?
What you said is one of the few things that makes sense. It's a lot easier to pick at someone for having skeletons in their closet because it takes the heat off you. I don't know why any sane person would discount the idea of Wade Robson and James Safechuck being liars looking for money, because it at least means that Michael wasn't harming kids. Isn't that what you want?
