None of these people worked on that album. Whatever behavior they experienced from her is their experience. That doesn't excuse using that to discredit her, which is a lot of what's being done in this thread. I'm not a psychiatrist here to diagnose her mental state. I posted accounts from people who actually worked on the album.

And to top it all off, people act like well, she sold x amount of records, why wouldn't a label want a follow up. The same label wanted her to have an abortion. Read the article.

the last decade or so has been the DIY era. Forget the industry. She can't even bring herself to make music on her own just cuz.

Dave Chappelle went crazy and deaded Chappelle Show but even he went back to doing stand up. On top of that, Columbia had a lock on super famous female acts. Even if Lauryn Hill fell back for just 10 years, Sony knows how to deal with that since they have Sade.

On the flip side of this, as a Lauryn fan knowing she's going to be late and she's going to tell me "I should be lucky she showed up at all" and she's be telling me this for years, why would I as a sane individual still continue to cop tickets and then complain about her behavior. That is textbook insanity. I would only pay to see her if she's on the bill with another artist I like.

People say Lauryn's insane, no the insane person is the one's that continue show up to her concerts expecting her to be on time knowing she's notoriously late (and at times ridiculously late) and her explanation is basically telling you she's doing you a favor.

Yep and this why I passed on going to see her and Nas on tour a few years back. She’s not worth it to wait for hours and to play covers of her own songs. Went to Essence this year and my sister was there. She was excited because she never saw Lauryn live and she was a headliner. I told her don’t get your hopes up. Well Lauryn showed up like 90 minutes late and then started performing songs that we didn’t know. We didn’t realize until the third song came on that was she was singing Everything is Everything over some new beat. My sister was like, “we can go” lol. It didn’t help that it was like 2 am either

And even they don't call her a thief or even speak ill of her. And that isn't even the full story becuse according to people who worked on the album, the New Ark Group didn't do what a lot of what they claimed. Che Vicious says he had to clean up their work.

The New Ark Group was indeed credited for their work. It was just less than what they felt they contributed.

What cape? Lauryn has been showing up late since like 2005/2006. It's 2023 and people are still pulling up to the show after the fact. At this point, their saying "here take my money while you show up late and tell me you're doing me a favor". That's enabling her to make statements like the one in the OP and empowers her to continue to do so.

As far as her people talking about she doesn't write, produce, and all this other jazz, how is providing proof that does indeed write and produce qualify as caping?
