Yup.Mj and Rodman joined a team that won as much as 57 games without them.
So it would be like Lebron at age 32 and another all-nba would be joining a team that was better than this years NY Knicks, then 3 years later retire at 35.
Context matters.
LeBron is 40, Jordan was 35. And they played in different types of teams.
I dont understand why people need to reach and create pointless comparisons just to say that Jordan is better than LeBron. Just say MJ was more consistent and clutch when it most mattered, instead of all that bullshyt. Then you can say LeBron did it in different eras, with different teams, conferences which is impressive too, but mj never tried so it’s pointless to compare.
Bron hypes himself up more than MJ, because the media is completely different. They covered for MJ whereas the modern sports media gets more $$$$ with hot takes...and Bron is the easiest target for hot takes.
Also gotta remember that people were calling MJ the GOAT (GQ Magazine) BEFORE he'd even won a title. He never had to self promote because it was done on his behalf. MJ wasn't chasing Wilt, Kareem, Bird or Magic because he was anointed by everyone before he truly earned it. Fortunately he ended up earning the hype.
Bron has always had the ghost of MJ behind him and I think he's a lot more sensitive to criticism than he'd like to admit. Jordan was like Stone Cold where he gave no fukks and people loved him anyway. Bron wants to be loved but he was meant to be the supervillain. 6'9" 250 athletic freak is supposed to be Dr. Evil and he never leaned into that shyt.
