So instead of fixing the EPA, its better to get rid of it completely?
dudes need to keep this in mind too, everyone in here; just because some a$$hole introduces a bill doesnt mean shyt :why: this is not law by ANY means. bernie introduced several bills to legalize weed; did it happen? i guess in part im reacting to the 'a republican said this, so now its the law' fearmongering thats been happening in the news the last two weeks

do you think the fukkin EPA is just gonna go down without a fight? if anyone can fight against abolishment, its government agencies :heh:

you didnt answer my question :yeshrug:

1,700 residents of Flint, Michigan sue EPA over water crisis

E.P.A. Waited Too Long to Warn of Flint Water Danger, Report Says
https://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/21/...n-of-flint-water-danger-report-says.html?_r=0

^^^ see the point that the republicans are making is that the EPA is a bullshyt organization. flint would seem to be evidence of that :ehh:

and look; again, im not sitting here saying that we dont need gov protection from this shyt

I didn't quote you to answer your question. I quoted you to challenge your argument of them having a point. The government didn't prevent 9/11, should we have no federal government period? The need for something to be held accountable, need of new leadership, needing to be revamped etc ≠ totally dismantlement the department.

You said the EPA didn't stop flint, but their wouldn't have been a Flint had it not been for leadership at the state level. I would argue that this is an example of why states should not have full control over environmental affairs.

fair enough :yeshrug:edit: @Trajan refer to this

like i said, i have to mention that part of my reaction is this: some a$$hole proposing this bill...does not make it a law. the republicans have to stand in front of the country and say "we are going to abolish the environmental protection agency", and then actually demolish a federal government agency

frankly, im getting kinda tired of the left bestowing these godlike powers on republicans :scusthov: shyt is embarrassing. yes, i understand they have a majority. they dont get to just do whatever the fukk they want :mjlol:

The Governor did that, so why should we give full power to states?

@the cac mamba 's solution is retarded if this is true.

It's like saying because the police never prevented every single murder they should be disbanded.

The EPA didn't prevent a governor from polluting so we should give governors all the power to pollute.

I'm really seeing how stupid many Americans are with these threads.

Everytime this administration does something like this...people show they asses.

"Why do we need the EPA?"
"Why do we need the Ozone Layer?"
"What are carbon emissions?

American civilization's final chapter.
It's because Republicans ( white people if we're being honest ) are brain dead, they constantly make retarded decisions.

Sad that we the people have to pay for their retarded decisions.

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if they enact a federal ban on teaching evolution in schools.

A fleeting childhood
and what did the EPA do about it?

im not saying that we dont need the EPA. but if they keep letting this stuff happen, isnt is possible that the EPA aint shyt?
It's more so a criticism of the state level. The article below is about the same area of land but a different reason they wanted to get the EPA involved. Persoanlly, i believe there needs to be a federal level environmental agency as a lot of times these sparsely populated towns don't kow what the fukk they're doing

:ehh: you know honestly, maybe this is kinda true :dead: shouldnt the concentration of environmental efforts be locally based?

its not like i trust the republicans, but our federal agencies are just awful

of course not, the reason the EPA was established was because of the lack of consistent environmental regulations from state to state. I think it was the Cuyahoga River that caught on fire because pollution from one state got into the river and subsequently flowed into other states.

It's not rocket science...pollution in one state can affect surrounding ones, so it makes no sense to have a states rights stance on the environment.

do you think the repubs could successfully dismantle this agency? like i said, part of my skepticism is that i just dont give them that much credit

you have this cocksucker comin outta florida tryin to make a name for himself in the republican world, so he puts this bill out there. do you really think the seasoned republicans are gonna go through with this? its not like they havent put their 'friends' in there along the way as well
