If you enjoy it, I'd say go for it, but realize that you're going to have to stay dedicated and keep on pushing. I made the career switch. Got a degree in a completely different field, didn't care for that field, took a year off of work, learned programming and now I work in the field. The thing is, I really enjoy programming. If you don't enjoy it, I don't think it's the field to get into because you're going to have to spend a lot of time outside of work learning new concepts as well.

If you want a job in the field, stop being cheap. Buy a kindle and buy different books on amazon and read them cover to cover and work through them. Or go onto udemy and buy some courses and go through them. Javascript or Java are nice languages to learn.

Some of yall need to let it go...if you not in school learning, don't think you just gonna learn to code casually...yall aint got the stomach or patience for it
My older sister who is 34, picked up Coding last year. She had ZERO experience in tech and has no related degree. She now works for a company in silicon valley as a software engineer. It is definitely possible, although my sister is very smart and she did a bootcamp in SF aimed at Minorities...

shiiiiit, what all you need to know? where should a beginner start?

I dunno breh that's what I'm wondering too ,I'm not in this field. If you ask 10 people you will get 10 different answers.

Look into Python or HTML. Both are pretty straightforward languages with syntax that make sense to most people even if you haven't coded before. Both will give you a foundation that you can use for other languages.
