What Programming Language to Learn (Next) - Streamhead

Nice little flowchart that may help you decide which direction to go in your first language depending on what you want to do :ehh:

http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Java_Programming (nice little book to get a better understanding, the other languages are on there as well)

It depends on what you find interesting mobile, web, game designs, applications? Just go with Java and try to master that, it has multiple uses.

I can only speak for myself but when you are able to program applications without much aid, then you know you are getting somewhere. Its a lot about different ways to go about programming (attacking a problem-making sure your code is bug free) than mastering the syntax - not like that isn't important though.

My Uncle got me an Internship lined up which could lead to a full time position if they see I can understand the code.

The thing is I haven't coded in 7 years, Since I was a Soph in H.S.

Now I got a to cram for a month on Java.

I downloaded netbeans and Jcreator, the thing is I don't want to start with fvcking hello world. I want to look at projects with multiple classes and Instantiate them in other classes and the main class, so I can re-grasp the concept.

Good looking out man. Probably web design and game designs. I'll look into it.
