These modern sports cars transmissions can shift faster and more efficiently than any human could ever do. If it's performance you're after in a modern sports car I would argue

auto >> manual

NAH. AUTOS ARE BETTER FOR BAD DRIVERS. A GOOD MANUAL DRIVER WILL DO BETTER THAN AN AUTO.

COMPUTERS TAKE A BIT MORE TIME TO DECIDE WHEN TO SHIFT. THAT TIME IS PERFORMANCE LOSS.

Been testing out sports cars, had to learn how to manual. I just learned you can switch gears without popping the clutch :gladbron:

My homeboy told me i can take this car from first gear to fourth without touching the clutch but that shyt ain't work
POWER SHIFTING R FUN.

You tripping if you think you can shift faster than a dual clutch auto transmission. Even paddle shifting in an auto is faster than manual. Numbers don't lie.

"The company line from Ferrari, as well as other speed-obsessed automakers, is that a manual transmission hampered the abilities of their supercars. In other words, you simply aren’t fast enough, or smooth enough, to get the most from your car. Sequential and dual-clutch transmissions change gears faster than any mortal possibly can, which is why guys like Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso squeeze a paddle instead of flick a lever. "

THAT IS NOT THE ARGUMENT. THE STRUGGLE WITH AUTOS IS WHEN TO SHIFT. THE ACTUAL SHIFT IS FAST. THE COMPUTERS HAVE TO GUESS WHAT YOU WANT BASED ON CURRENT INPUT FROM YOU.

PADDLE SHIFTING IS NOT WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT.

THE ARGUMENT WAS AUTO VS. MANUAL. SHIFT POINTS ARE DETERMINED BY COMPUTERS NOW. THOSE COMPUTERS CANNOT GUESS WHAT I WANT FASTER THAN MY HANDS BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT I WANT.
THEN THERE ARE TIMES WHEN YOU DON'T WANT TO SHIFT AND THE AUTO WILL SHIFT. I HAD A HARD TIME KEEPING THIS ONE CAR ON THE TRACK BECAUSE I GOT ON GAS TOO EARLY AND IT SPUN THE CAR EVERY TIME. SAME TURN WITH SAME CAR IN A MANUAL AND RAPED THE TURN.

Had to look up powershifting, shyt sounds kinda scary bruh :lupe:

You mean you shift without letting off the accelerator? That gotta kill the transmission crazy fast.

IT AIN'T BAD IF YOU KNOW HOW TO MATCH THE RPM RIGHT. IT SAVES YOUR CLUTCH TOO.

YOU'RE POURING JELLY ON YOURSELF IF YOU DRAG RACE AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO POWERSHIFT.

My SS is boosted an it's an Auto, I live in the city, and driving a manual in city traffic is tiring and overrated, just to say you shift your own gears. No thank you. I mash the gas and get thrown back just fine in my auto when I pull it out.

People usually ask if it's a stick and I say no, then they act uppity make jokes, and I just ask them to race.
