My SS is boosted an it's an Auto, I live in the city, and driving a manual in city traffic is tiring and overrated, just to say you shift your own gears. No thank you. I mash the gas and get thrown back just fine in my auto when I pull it out.

People usually ask if it's a stick and I say no, then they act uppity make jokes, and I just ask them to race.

Stock 4L60(LS) transmissions are faulty above 400rwhp, they break like eggshells. 6 speeds hold up much better for racing. New GTR's and the like are on another level, not even comparable.

347ci LSX(Forged Internal LS1)
D1SC
Comp Cam 224/228 113
Trickflow Heads
Ported 92mm Fast Intake/Throttle Body
Built 4L60e - 3600rpm Yank Stall
Racetronix 46 Injectors
American Racing Stainless Headers/ Y-Pipe
Magnaflow Cat-Back Exhaust
New Motor Mounts
Bilstein Shocks/BMR Springs
Nitto DR's 17''

Made just over 600rwhp on a Mustang Dyno at Speed Inc last season.

I'll do you one better than some stills, here's a video of me and a buddy's Monte Carlo, Grudge Running at our resident track this past season. His homeboy doubled up when he saw my tires and still I came out with $400

Theres tracks in Joliet(Route 66) and a resident track in Morocco and we go to that one because they aren't as strict.:manny:

I'm getting ready to go back out again in a few months with better tires/suspension.
I haven't done shyt to the inside of the car, still stock interior other than safety stuff.:yeshrug:

Ask away...:ehh:
It ain't like I can get the money back.:skip:

347ci LSX(Forged Internal LS1) -$3,000
D1SC - $3,000 (used)
Heads/Cam - $2,000
Ported 92mm Fast Intake/Throttle Body - $1,500
Built 4L60e - 3600rpm Yank Stall - $3,000
Racetronix 46 Injectors - FREE
American Racing Stainless Headers/ Y-Pipe - Came with the car.
Magnaflow Cat-Back Exhaust - Came with the car.
New Motor Mounts - FREE
Bilstein Shocks/BMR Springs - $700
Nitto DR's 17'' - $400
Tune - $400
Interior Matting Safety - $1,000

~$15k over the course of 4 years, the car itself was $10k when I bought it back in 2009. Just over $3k/year in modifications which is very mild compared to some race budgets. I work very slowly, one thing at a time. Can't afford anything insane yet.

I did all my own work except for the Engine block/Transmission build, and Tuning. That saved a bunch of money also.

These modern sports cars transmissions can shift faster and more efficiently than any human could ever do. If it's performance you're after in a modern sports car I would argue

auto >> manual

Theres more to shifting than efficiency..the computer cant see the road conditions or curvature its just following an algorithm.....sure they do a better job than most drivers would but theres good reasons why pros choose stick it gives you complete control
