I successfully tweaked a Wordpress theme for a blog that an association was supposed to use (they did not at the end but that was good experience from a programming POV).
- If you want to change the design and implement stuff the way you want, HTML (5) + CSS (3) will be the way to go.
- If you want to go deeper and try to build your own themes, PHP will be mandatory.

By the way, @The Nigerian, by using bigcartel, you will need to be careful about double content because mollywatr.bigcartel.com and mollywatr.com have the exact same content which will be negative SEO wise in Google's eyes.

I'm kicking myself for being too intimidated to learn how to do this on my own sooner.

On one of my previous projects I hired a web developer for $1500 and he INSISTED on using Drupal. Needless to say posting to that site was a b!tch and making any changes was a pain. That project didn't last long and it was $1500 down the drain.

That whole experience kept me away from web developing all these years.

Learn how to code, brehs. Don't be scared. Just dive in.
Drupal is harder to learn but more powerful than wordpress, plus you get thousands of modules for free. The community support is pretty good.

If you know HTML/CSS, drupal is a GOAT software to use.

I've been stalling for damn near 6 months on moving my Blogger blog to Wordpress. People have been telling me the same exact thing yall are saying. But at this point I'm almost willing to drop some bread to somebody to set up and design it. Like I have a design proposal and all that written up smh

I know a little HTML from tinkering with my Blogger blog, but I just want somebody to design the shyt so I can get to producing content again lol

Can you showcase your blog ? Is what you need really much ?
Coli peep will eventually give you a hand if it's not too time-wasting. Otherwise, there are coders here whom you can do business with.

That's my brainchild, word to my avy. Not the most aesthetically pleasing, but rich with content. I started it back in 2009 as a class project in college and it became my personal blog where I talked about sampling in rap music. With the move to Wordpress I want the blog just to be a part of a bigger site. Something that'll go a little bit in depth, to showcase my talents, interests, and previous work since I'm not just focusing on my writing anymore.

My obstacles are things like, keeping the sidebar posts only on the "Blog" page instead of every page like Wordpress has. Other things like, site and blog header, logos, buttons, etc. I know EXACTLY what I want, I just don't have the creative skills/know-it-all to make it happen
Ok I see, well that's a little too much relatively to what I can do, but I'll get you a sticky if you want so people can see and help if they can.

What do yall cats use to create images with on your blogs? I used to use Paint Shop Pro but my PC gave in. Currently have no editing equipment for artwork at the minute, can anyone put me on?
