I successfully tweaked a Wordpress theme for a blog that an association was supposed to use (they did not at the end but that was good experience from a programming POV).
- If you want to change the design and implement stuff the way you want, HTML (5) + CSS (3) will be the way to go.
- If you want to go deeper and try to build your own themes, PHP will be mandatory.
By the way, @The Nigerian, by using bigcartel, you will need to be careful about double content because mollywatr.bigcartel.com and mollywatr.com have the exact same content which will be negative SEO wise in Google's eyes.
