Uhhh...yes?

Only Jordan is a better scorer than Prime Shaq. Maybe Kareem too.

Kobe and Wilt are better scorers than prime Shaq too. Are you serious? Shyt I'd put Karl Malone, Jerry West and probably Rick Barry in consideration too.

You mean streches liek 17ppg in the NBA finals ?
Kobe had series where he struggled too.

The thing is whats better a player that would give you 28 every night or a player who would give you 40, 40, 40, then a stretch where he struggles and only scores 15 on terrible percentages? Kobe's shot selection is the only reason why this is even a debate honestly. If he didn't go through stretches where his shot selection was so godawful this wouldn't be close.

That's the most disrespectful shyt I've read in awhile. Hell no they ain't better scorers than Shaq.

Wilt's competition was "meh". I don't put much stake in those statistical accolades because the pace and league were so crazy then.

And no, Prime Shaq was far mores dominant and effective. 28 on 57% while getting double and tripled team is far better than anything Kobe did.

So Lebron makes wiser decisions when it comes to shooting the ball, but hes not a more talented scorer. Ok I got you

We've already said Kobe can score for a couple of games at an extreme rate but Lebron is more consistent while being better in every other aspect of basketball.

Lebron isn't a better shooter or defender.

If you go by a single game or a 5 game stretch with Kobe at his absolute best. Kobe is better, but if you're talking about an 82 game season, Lebron is better. He is just more consistent.

.

I think this is the best way to describe/compare them. Kobe in short spurts is (was) able to and do amazing never-seen-before things scoring wise. Bron, becuz of his all around game and physical tools is able to do less eye-popping but equally amazing things every single night.

The whole "clutch" debate was basically a microcosm of that. Kobe dominates in the last 2 minutes while Bron dominates the other 46.

Its why I've always felt that Bron is better compared to Tim Duncan and Shaq than to Kobe. That consistency is an automatic 55 wins and a trip to the conference finals for any average team...

Shooting is an aspect of scoring. Mike Miller is a better shooter than Lebron but he's not a better scorer. Kobe's a better shooter but Lebron is a smarter shooter while being a much better slasher and finisher. It evens out.

Lebron is a more versatile and impactful defender than Lebron. Kobe got to play when the league was more physical and you were allowed to handcheck but he's always been a poor help defender who stays out of position.

Lebron is a much better at contesting shots, much better at help defense, much better at anchoring defenses and covering weaknesses, and his versatility is what makes him more impactful. Lebron was a DPOTY candidate due to his impact.

Next.

He said in their PRIMES, not career. It's not disrespectful to CONSIDER them like I said. To say that ONLY Jordan and MAYBE Kareem are better scorers than Shaq in their primes isnt disrespectful? Do you dudes watch the game? Those two are the ONLY ones better SCORERS than Shaq in their primes? :stopitslime:

You post this shyt and you EXPECT a healthy and unbiased debate on Kobe? Does the same thing applies to Shaq when he faced Smits, McCollough,Dikembe, to get all of those crazy Finals numbers? That competition at center was meh too. When he faced a REAL HOF center in in the finals vs. Akeem he got swept. But anyway conform what you may to fit your argument. Smh.

Kobe spent the first 2 years on the bench, spent the next few years sharing the ball with a DOMINANT Shaq, missing numerous games due to injury recently and he STILL winds up 4th all-time leading scorer in the history of the NBA. How? If he's not real consistent and isn't a better scorer than Shaq, then tell me how he is about to be #3 before he retires?
