More versatile scoring doesn't translate to more effective scoring. Jamal Crawdord ain't a GOAT scorer. Lebron averages similar or more points on less shots.

All these Kobe Stans throwing negs but got no facts or data to argue.
Is Shaq in his prime a better scorer than Lebron?

Kobe's best season was the 2003 season when he averaged 30 pts, 7 rebs, 6 assts, 2.2 stls while shooting 45% FG and 38% from the 3pt line.

I do like however how you try and dismiss Kobe's 35+ ppg by saying "I'm pretty sure if Lebron fired off 7 more shots a game, he's Probably make at least half":camby:

That would be like someone saying, I'm pretty sure DeAndre Jordan could dominate the league in scoring if he put up about 15 more shots per game being that he's at 66% FG.

So Kobe's best all around season isn't as good as Lebron's career average?

27.5 on 50% / 7 AST / 7.2 REB

So good job? Kobe's best all around season is less efficient and good as what Lebron has averaged over his entire season.

Close, but I would give Lebron the edge because he can light it up from 3. You're comparing 2 GOAT scorers so it could go either way.

Shaq required a rule change to stop and typically required a double / triple team. That can't be denied.

I think Lebron is the greater offensive player (Playmaking, passing, and scoring combined) while Shaq gets the nod in scoring but they're both elites.

So can kobe and lebron go either way?

I've already said I think Kobe is a more explosive scorer with a more versatile skill set. The problem with Kobe is you got to take his highs with his lows and his scoring lows are bad.

Lebron is the more consistent and effective scorer. They're neck and neck, depending on what you want, but Lebron is the greater offensive player because he's a better playmaker, passer, and is still a comparable scorer.

If you go by a single game or a 5 game stretch with Kobe at his absolute best. Kobe is better, but if you're talking about an 82 game season, Lebron is better. He is just more consistent.

On second thought I might side with Shaq. I've seen defenses slow Lebron down, but I've never seen any had any real success against Shaq. But its close.
