Lol, wtf. Why the hell would you want Hakeem running around on the perimeter? It doesn't matter that LeBron is better at guarding more types of players, the impact Hakeem had defensively is WAY out of his league.

You obviously haven't seen Garnett in his prime. You're forgetting that he came into this league as a SF and he could guard all positions way better than LeBron. It doesn't make sense to say that Garnett isn't quick enough to guard PGs in his prime when he, himself played his share of PG in his prime. During his MVP season he was guarding literally every type of player there is in this league.

It doesn't matter that 5 LeBrons would be better than 5 Hakeems defensively. That's like saying 5 Jamal Crawfords would be better than 5 Shaqs on the court. Doesn't make any sense, Shaq is still much more impactful on the offensive end.

:childplease:

I remember when "The Kid" was drafted straight outta HS, first since Moses Malone. Followed by Kobe and Jermaine O'Neal taking the same direct route the next year.

It's not possible for Garnett to be a better defender. He's simply not quick enough. LeBron can guard everyone Garnett can guard plus all the perimeter guys too.

5 Crawfords would get killed on the court, no size. 5 Shaqs would get killed too because they'd get torched on the perimeter. Thank you for proving my point. 5 of anybody makes no sense but you get 5 LeBrons and you can lock down any team, baseline to baseline.

5 LeBrons is not guarding premier centers in their prime. Let's not get carried away. He and Dwight are about two inches in height and Dwight has no moves. Miami wouldn't dare that stuff it was prime Duncan, Hakeem Diesel, etc. He can guard all 5 positions because centers in this day and age lack size and technique. It's either or. Either you're a large bum or you're undersized like Horford is. When he starts shutting down even Bynum iso I'll believe you.

People also need to stop with this myth of him shutting down Rose one on one. He tried that the year before with Cleveland and was getting cooked. No one is guarding Rose on an island by themselves.

Yeah but if you consider 5 guys with that size/speed/strength combo.

First of all the PG is gonna get pressured heavily, shortening the shot clock. Then when he picks up his dribble, can you imagine the trap? And then can you imagine trying to pass over 2 LBJ's with another LBJ playing the passing lane just waiting for you to make that pass?

The ball may never get into the 5 man. Defensive is a team thing. It's about help and rotating. Nobody is covering more ground in such a short amount of time as him.

I mean it's basic science at this point.

You didn’t watch prime Garnett on the Twolves he was 7 feet tall about a 210 soak and wet he had the strength to bang down low and was the most agile 7 footer the game had probably ever seen he could guard anyone and even if you were quicker his length would neutralize it

And nobody played the pick and roll better than Kg

People don't realize why KG was the anchor for that Celtics defense...and he wasn't even in his athletic prime for most of his career in Boston. His bball IQ was tremendous and his length and communication on picks and switches was elite.

I feel the same way about Chris Bosh in Miami. Bosh was the foundation for the Heat's defense. He made them elite because he possessed the same attributes KG did...length, athleticism and a tremendous feel for switching, hedging and rotating on the PNR.

Tyson shouldn’t have won this award

LeBron, KG, Josh Smith were all better defenders this season.
