LeBron hurt the Lakers big time this year: this is in large part LeBron's fault.

Preach. I hear that a lot of actual Laker fans have never liked him. Defacing his mural and all. Imagine a 35 year old Jordan came to LA? The city would have had a week of celebration.

And his Stans want it two ways - he plays well and it adds to his legacy because look at how well he’s playing at his age!

He plays poorly and it doesn’t affect his legacy because hey he’s old!

Can’t have it both ways. If he shouldn’t be judged like any other player because of his age then his legacy building ended years ago and he’s a novelty act now.
Yeah. I'm indifferent to Lebron either way. Wouldn't argue with anyone who deems him top 5 or the GOAT even though I personally have him more so in the 5-10 range based on my own preference.

But Lebron is sort of hurting himself with his goal of longevity and playing the numbers game.

On one hand, he can still stat pad and play the numbers game until retirement to compensate for his struggles of winning another championship and many supporters of his will cling to those stats and longevity to argue his GOAT case similar to how Drake and Eminem fans often use numbers to prove that they're the GOATs.

But, the longer he plays without more rings and late career feats, the more desperate he looks to stay relevant in the current NBA where a number of current NBA players are lapping past him. I mean....Antman was barely doing anything elite on the court but still managed to outshine Lebron to embarrassing levels.

I wish Lebron would realize that he doesn't need to chase after a Jordan level legacy and, the more he tries, the worse it looks for him. Iverson is one of my favorite players and he doesn't even have a single ring. If Lebron would fall back and give people time to miss him, he'll eventually get the recognition for his own accomplishments. But the longer he plays and remain the "face of the league" despite not being the best in the league, the worse things look for him.

This board is gonna be a quiet place once he retires. Lord forbid if y’all actually gotta start actually watching games and talk about other players.

I'm hanging them up breh, I'm just here to fight these demons. But yeah the LeGBT who have been ghost in all playoffs threads but been crashing out over a week in every Bron thread, they gonna be down bad

But he can’t. You don’t embed minions in the media and use your sports agency to drive narratives unless you’re absurdly legacy focused. You don’t lie and say you never flopped, that you were bottom 50 in ft attempts (a Trump level easily disproven lie), throw your role players in Miami under the bus, don’t check your minion when he disrespects Chris Bosh etc if you aren’t. You don’t call yourself GOAT (and make your wife do so at an awards ceremony), say the bubble championship was the hardest of all time etc if you don’t. Whine about injuries when you lose. Whine about your roster. Whine on podcasts. Etc.

The problem for LeBron is that he thinks everyone is as stupid as his Stans. So normal people look at all of that and it repels them. You also don’t do it if you TRULY think you’re GOAT and your legacy speaks for itself
