Not even going down this road, but you kidding yourself if you don't think Nike didn't wanted him to get involved in that. :mjlol:
as someone as intelligent as you would be sure to note, I said nothing of the sort. of course that would be a landmine for nike. however I strongly suspect that the only reason most of the people who bring up china do so is because it is a way to get to lebron. if they were really so concerned they would be pressuring actual policy makers as well.

exactly I don't hoop any more and my daughter 7 is the only athlete besides my 4 year old but I'd be a fool to put him in some expensive shoes. My oldest I don't even know if he can even jump. :mjcry: and my middle is always reading books and watching anime.

It's not even about trying to shyt on Bron. It's just the fact, even alluded to in his quote from over a decade ago, that he's not going to piss off Nike no matter what fam. If the situation from last year with China had no implications involving Nike, I feel pretty confident he would have been more outspoken on the issue.

There's a limit to how far some will go when it comes to potentially affecting the wallet. That's why the comparisons of any of these guys nowadays to cats who truly gave up everything like Ali is a huge stretch.

I'm some where in the middle. Black owned shouldnt mean cheaper or lower quality. You also can't forget about the poorer folks. Lebron does have some shoes in Shoe carnival and Payless today tho.

Do you not agree with black men being business owners and providing black low income families with fashionable sneaker options?
Black businessmen shouldn't be shamed into diluting their brand...especially when that same businessman has helped plenty of other black people become millionaires. What black millionaires has Marburys living in China ass created?

I disagree with you in regards to lebron speaking on china. unless Ive missed something he has been largely exclusive in talking about American issues.

as far as china goes, when people do bring it up I virtually never hear them say what they actually want to happen. that's why to me it becomes more of a convenient talking point to use than something that demonstrates true concern

Let's be reality none of you cats would wear Starburys over a bigger brand/more high profile shoe. But with that said I respect what Marbury did and the intent behind it. You can like expensive sneakers and still respect Stephon Marbury's intent and that was to give inner city children a shoe that wouldn't kill their parents wallets.

Lebron has directly and indirectly got more Black talent hired in meaningful positions/businesses than most other other athletes combined.

American issue is easy, Trump is the easiest target to shyt on ever. Dude is a clown and it's not affecting anyone's bottom line.

You can't run with the "more than an athlete" narrative speaking out on any wrongdoing and injustice, but hold your tongue in the China situation because of the implications for Nike and their factories there. That's all.
