LeBron is really fukking up this situation.

BUT, using these missteps on China to devalue or minimize his work on civil rights, etc is TRASH. Not being right on everything doesn't take away what you are right about. It's a bullshyt purity test designed to make any progressive look disingenuous.

This is America in a nutshell. A Black lady gets murdered in her home while playing video games in front of her 8-year-old niece, and all liberal human rights activists want to talk about is why NBA Athletes aren't standing up for Citizens in Hong Kong. Whenever you hear an American go and criticize another Country for Human Rights violations, take a step back and think about what they are really doing.

On at least some level they are saying that they understand that people are human beings, have rights and those rights should be protested for. At the same time, however, we have to be smart and critical thinking. At the same time, we live in a society that never ceases to come up with ingenious methods to stop and prevent Black people from obtaining their human rights. When Black people cry out for the cops to stop shooting them, our fellow citizens say, "Hey what about Black on Black crime." When Black people demand better education, our fellow citizens say, "Black people don't value education." When Black people say "Black Lives Matter," our fellow citizens say, "All Lives Matter."

The saddest part of this whole hypocritical charade isn't the outright racists. It's the Americans who, like Daryl Morey, know deep down that as human beings Black People have certain rights, but are simply too afraid to speak up. They agree with us, but they don't want to sacrifice anything. They know deep down that reparations are just, but they just don't want to be responsible. So what do they do to satiate their conscience? They do superficial virtue-signaling things like tweeting about Hong Kong protesters.

Never forget that the moment American's become self-righteous and call out other Country's for their shyt is the moment they are being the most hypocritical. Because they are the same people who have turned a blind eye to the racism that Black people have faced since the day they were born.

Brehs in the thread really think Xinny the Pooh wouldn't be willing to let an NBA player get touched in Beijing :francis:

That's not how they get down in Hundred Acres Woods brehs. My son Xi collecting dragon balls right now wishing the West would give him a reason to flex.

They absolutely would have snatched up and pressed Bron or any of them other dribbling and jump shooting motherfukksrs if he had said some spicy shyt while still being over there.

I agree with Lebron James wholeheartedly. Most people don't understand the background story of HK and what's currently going on there. It's bigger than human rights abuses and it has more to do with territorial integrity and realpolitik. It's easy to follow a narrative about evil China, when China is doing what it can do to protect itself and continue its exponential growth, as the world gradually moves into a bipolar one.

Every region/country is different and "democracy" as it's in the west isn't going to work everywhere. Certain countries need hardliners to reach their full potentials. But once they get there, they will naturally take a softer stance. That's how evolution works. China's hardline style of governance is what got the country to where it's today. People forget China also tried the western style of democracy for decades with puppets and western countries pillaging its resources and all it got back was anarchy, deaths of millions, poverty, diseases and underdevelopment - until Maoism began. With Maoism, if you've to kill a few hundreds bad eggs to save millions and enable the normal progression - it's a choice you have to take. And that has worked pretty well for China in the last four decades.

Europe where "democracy" was birthed was like that for centuries until post world wars when it needed a new trajectory, to maintain its population, due to the millions of people that died during those world wars. And everything became more controlled without the hardline approach.

If Morey really cared about freedom, charity has to begin at home.
We live in the social media era where people think tweeting makes them an expert in every subject
