Nah, their roster is trash and needs Kevin Love, according to the dudes on here.

Lol

That team is so stacked it's unreal

Even without LeBron that team would have been nice

Kyrie
Waiters
Wiggins
Bennett
Thompson

How many other teams have 5 dudes of that caliber on rookie deals?

You my man, but are we going to ignore Kobe getting on the bat phone and trying to recruit LeBron and Melo like Dwight Schrute trying to sell some paper for Dunder Mifflin, that wasn't too wavey.

Dude talking about "I'll focus on defense, you and LeBron can be the stars" he knows that long winter is coming.

Kobe is 36, b, not 30, and already 5 rings deep in this game. Also I don't think he even recruited LeBron as he was the widest of wide outliers here. He tried to recruit Melo but a old Kobe and Melo team isn't even in the ball park with what LeBron just had in Miami.

As far as Kobe choosing the path of least resistance in his career, he demanded a trade from the FO if they couldn't put a contender around him. He floated Chicago as an option and Kobe with Chicago would have been just as shytty as the Lakers were. He stayed on bum ass teams in the west while his rivals went deep or won titles or were the first seed, as he just bided his time and waited. Then his team came out of the 2007-08 season gates the first seed, grabbed Gasol and the rest was history. Kobe is a glory hog, he cares about winning above anything to inflate his ego. Lebron is an attention whore who has a totally different mind state. One dude has been on the Lakers since 1997 and the other dude couldn't even fathom being on an aging Heat team with the best FO in the NBA.

I agree, they just lack a center, the league dodged a bullet when Embiid broke his foot, cause adding him to that roster with LeBron would have been game over.

How many players in any sport, EVEN SOCCER, switch teams on purpose after a finals loss? Without any inkling of revenge in their hearts? This dude was so unaffected by losing because he absolved himself of blame. That's why he was stat padding (there is proof of this) during the finals in garbage time. This dude was down 15 with 6 minutes to go and called it a foregone conclusion and sat his ass on the bench. Path of least resistance.

Nah fam, he hit Bron and Melo up

Ramona Shelburne of ESPN said via a podcast, “Kobe actually did…call both of them and talked to them about it.” Shelburne said Kobe even said he would “play defense” while LeBron and Melo would “be the stars…just like the Olympic team.” However, the sticking point in the pitch was the money.

My sources tell me he was playing this in the background of the call

Kobe probably told him he would be the next Lamar Odom the way he told Dwight he would be Tyson Chandler :mjlol:

If there is one arrogant prick in the NBA it's Kobe, there is no way in hell I believe he seriously recruited LeBron outside of a casual call where he lauded the benefits of being his sidekick.

:wtf: Is Bron being criticized for "taking the easy route" by joining the Cavs.....the Cavs? Where the hometown pressure will ratchet up exponentially after each passing season to win one for the home team. How is a team that won 33 games in the east stacked by adding an unproven rookie before Bron got there.

@Malta I think Varejao is one of there better players. I'm not sold on Waiters.

@houston911 how were they stacked before Bron? Where is the depth?

Naw I don't. Hell he coulda went to Houston, who has a better chance at a ship that Cleveland.

He's already taken a pay cut when he was desperate for a ring, now that he has 2 and 5 appearances, he's made it clear that he wants the max. If OKC offered him the max or the Spurs, he would feel no ways about taking it because that's the type of guy he is.

Much the same way the Suns were stacked the year before they got Nash, despite going 29-53. There's young talent on that Cavs team that just needs guidance and a leader.

I like Varejao, but he's going to be 32 and they need to get younger/bigger at the 5 moving forward.

Wait, so if he takes the easy way out to win. Why wouldn't he just take another pay cut and go to another championship contender? :dahell:
